Anyone in the Lehigh or Delaware Valleys want to meet the morning of the 17th for a long ride to Stoudts?  I'm sure some folks have already planned such a meet, if so - can I tag along?   Wink

FJRski!, Jere, ejworthen, Jeets, or any of the Central NJ crew?

FJRski, you were thinking of a route, were you not?

Mmm...steak.

Molferen, Looks like I'll be heading there with another rider from the Reading area... not sure where he and I are meeting up yet but I can let you know when I find out if you want. Lemme know...

Eric, are you meeting up with others for the ride out?

I just put a post up on the Central Jersey board
Hey DAY TRIPPERS.  Anyone interested in riding to Stout's Black Angus on May 17?  If so, post-up or PM me.

I've got a back road route through some my favorite twisty sections of Upper Bucks and central Montgomery counties through French Creek SP to Adamstown.  It should take about 3.5 hours from Johnny's including a pit stop halfway in Douglassville.

What you do once we get there is up to you.  I'm eating lunch, and may take a slightly longer route back, depending how long we hang out.  I want to be home before dark.  Those of you with ONE-WAY TICKETS can take the ~1PM ride with Rincewind, have dinner with Ken & crew, slab it back, stay over, whatever.

All the usual disclaimers, I washed my gear once already this year on the burger run; not interested in doing it again, so keep your fingers crossed for a good day.

Just called and made my reservash for Saturday night at the Black Forest Inn - the "Mom & Pop motel" adjacent to Stoudt's.  Price for a king nonsmoking was $60 +tax.

For those just hitting this thread, in addition to the B.F.I. the next closest motel/hotelish lodgings are the Black Horse Lodge & Suites, the Holiday Inn and the Comfort Inn; all about 2 miles down the road in Denver, PA.

Don't think final reservations have been made yet; we prolly could use a fresh head count for the dinner.

I got 3 people attending.

From page 1:

Ok I called and made reservations for 20-30 people at 5pm, and said there may be a group at lunch as well.  Spoke with Carole and she said it would be no problem.

There is a front room that we will be using.  When you enter the restaurant, turn right at the bar, then right again.

If we get a more exact head count, I can call them to update.  I should probably call anyway to confirm, but if it's just 12-16 people for dinner, I don't think they'll have a problem accommodating us.

Couple other things:

1. If you Google-map 'Stoudt's Brewery Adamstown PA' , that isn't the right location in Adamstown.  The physical address is 2800 North Reading Road Adamstown Pa. 19501.  It's just North of the 897/272 junction - a left turn right after Stoudtsburg Road.

See sat-pic of the restaurant and neighboring Inn.

2. There is limited parking at the front of the building.  It would be easier to park together in the lot to the left-hand side of the building.  This lot is gravel.

3. If you're going on the 1pm group ride and have a CB that might be helpful but it's not required.

Embarassment  Things are not shaping up for me on this weekend.  As of today, I've dropped from 100% to 50/50.

Ok I worked out the 1pm ride route that I'll lead.  Goin' to coal country and some East Penn Mnts.

Route link.  Leaving 1pm from Stoudt's parking lot, hopefully back by 5pm for dinner, please have tanks filled.  This route will be twisty.

Ok I have tweaked the route to include Maple Grove Road, Duryea Drive, 143, and Hawk Mountain Road.

Route GPX file for download (New version contains 3 alternate routes) - I hope this works right as I'm new to making Garmin files.

Here's a Google map approximating the gpx file route.

We may be a few minutes late to dinner.  If you get there at 5pm and I'm not there yet, tell them to seat you in the front room with the STN motorcycle group.
