Weather has been very nice the first two years (both in late April). Sunny with a cool start to the day, but nice spring temps in the afternoon. I hope our good luck continues.

I hope our luck continues, April in that part of PA is a crap-shoot at best. Yep, the last to years (IMHO) were great.

Hey would that be Mr. Riverstone on the bridge on the KLR? That 100 square miles around there is one of my favorite stomping grounds. Great pics looks like you had a nice run that day. I bet that is exactly the route garry had in mind.

You are correct... that be SWRiverston followed by Holly on the 916 and Kendenton on his Multi.  

That route has a lot a nice to great scenery and Wycoff road is the bomb!

This is one of the best little jewels in the PA Wilds. I've known the owner of this fine Bed/Breakfast, Restaurant/Bar for years. Hands down the best food in the area and the lodging is like staying in your own little Woolrich/Cabelas nook. He has 10 rooms upstairs each with their own bath. And a lounge that overlooks the dining room for the overnight guests with TV and internet. Room price includes an excellent buffet style breakfast on Sunday morning.

Then a nice ride down to Denny's on Sunday morning, using alot of the roads mentioned above.

Since trout season starts on April 12th this year he still has 7 rooms available as of this post for the 19th. Check out their site and the pictures of the rooms etc.. The deck along the pine creek is a popular spot any hour of the day.

We will be leaving the Pottstown, PA area Saturday morning, the 19th, taking a long northerly route thru the PA mountains to the Slate Run area if you'd like to ride along, PM me.

That's the route Doug, but take Airport Rd from 53 (just past I-80) to cut over to 322. Nothing special, just less slab. I also have another option that includes 555, 120, 872, etc if people already hit 144, Wyckoff, etc on Saturday.

Yes, I'm planning on doing it all in one day, just like the least two years.  I've been working on some fun mountain routes there and back.

For those that stayed over last year, how was the Day's Inn?  Anyone staying there again?  Other recommendations?

My friend and I will be staying at the Holiday Inn Express right across the road from the Days Inn.  We're partial to HIE's (love those cinnamon buns in the morning).

Instead of hopping on I-81, suggest you continue on 443 through Swatara SP and take Gold Mine Rd north.  You'll have to turn east on 209 for about 5 miles to get back to 125 north, but it's knee-dragon fun, and it was in pretty good shape last year, as Pennsy roads go ... and it keeps you off the slab.  

We made a mistake and of hopped on I-80 for a stretch on the way home last year, don't plan on doing that again.
