Nice luggage!

Your reasoning about choosing between the Bandit with ABS and the 650F sounds similar to mine.  I'll add that in my case instant gratification played a role as well, since I was able to get the 650F right away and the Bandit would have been a two month wait.

I may have missed it but I did not see where anyone has mentioned the valve adjustment interval for the GSX650F. Anyone know when the first one is due and thereafter?

Also does it come with a centerstand ?

It does not come with a center stand.  However there is a Suzuki stand available for around $100 that bolts right on without a problem.  The 650F and Bandit 1250 share a lot of parts and accessories.

The valves are checked for the first time at 14,500 miles.  I assume the valves should be rechecked every 14,500 miles.  Spark plugs are due for replacement every 7500 miles.

Great looking bike, will be super sharp once the bags match.

Those openings look pretty big on the Corbins. I know most don't, but do these fit a helmet inside?

Not talking a shot at the GSX650F, but why not get the Bandit 1250? The 1250 only weighs a few lbs more and has way more power everywhere?

1. Price- About $1,300 more for the Bandit

2. Insurance for some folks could be a problem with the big Bandito

3. Gas Mileage, tire life etc.

If it were me, I probably would just pony up the difference and get the Bandit.

GSX650F - fully faired, better mpg, cost less. For what I plan for, mostly commuting, some weekend riding and only once or twice a year longer trip to Phila or Pittsburgh from RI the GSX650F, of FZ6R (not sure which yet) will better suit my needs.

What they all said, plus better instruments on the 650F too.  In my case I was able to get the 650F right away, but the Bandit would have been a two month wait.

I'll add just a little to this...the GSX650F is quite nimble and entertaining to ride.  I did a demo of one immediately after I demo'd a B-King.  I was worried I was doing them in the wrong order as I might be a bit biased after playing with the 1340cc motor.  But I was quite pleasantly surprised.  While I certainly didn't get to give either bike their head, I was quite pleased with the ride on the little GSX.  It was simply a fun bike to ride, and a bargain to boot.  It was one of the bikes where the sum is greater than the parts.  It just plain works.

Understand I'm not trying to take anything away from the Bandit 1250S.  I think that bike is one of the most underrated bikes on the market as well.  I just feel that both bikes are different enough from one another for someone to be drawn towards one or the other.

As for me, I love all most bikes, I'll take one of each...   Lol

Cheers,

Joe

Got to sit on one today, feels pretty comfortable, bars could be back about 1/2 inch for my reach but looks like bars could be turned bit back due to the bend. Sat on a versus 650 too which sat a bit high, not quite flatfoot but the balance seemed good. Still want to check out the FZ6R which dealer said should be in any time. The footpegs on the GSX650F seemed maybe a bit high for me, any way to lower them maybe an inch?

Last Tuesday I got a call from a dealer near by that I had called asking for the FZ6r, the sales lady advising me that they had the FZ6R in stock, not assembled on the show room yet but in stock...  Asking me if I want to put a deposit on the bike...   Lol

I told her to call me back when they actually get it on the show room and I will be right there to check it out...

Never commit to anything that you can't see or touch...

Nice trick ah...  Another Dog with that bone...

Not sure that I want to buy a bike from that dealer now, fishy people...

As when I was looking for my last bike, the now gone vtx1300, I'm taking some time checking out different bikes before commiting on one. So far that GSX650F seemed the best comfort wise and feel for this type bike but going to reserve judgement. The dealer that had the GSX had 2 in stock and it's the non-buying season (though they said if I bought it they'd hold it free until spring) so not too worried about them both being gone before I get chance to check out the FZ6R. I sat on a honda 919? I think also but it didn't feel quite right.

Wow.. lots of good information from you guys.  I just joined on here.

I've been debating between a FZ6, a Ninja 650R.
I hadn't really thought about the GSX650F until I saw a used '07 at the dealer
near my house.  I'm hoping to go test ride it tomorrow.

I got to rent a Fz6 last May and do about 600 miles from Dallas to Arkansas and back.
Either way I am thinking about putting some side cases on it.

One thing I've noticed though is that all the aftermarket add on's seem to be for the 2008 model.
Will these fit on the 2007?

Thanks and ride on!

I think it was in general sport touring or in the suzuki forum, someone posted a review about one here a few weeks ago.  They really like it and the magazines have given it good reviews.  Personally I like it, its pretty comfortable and a lot of people I have talked to at shows seem to like it a lot.  I would sit on this one, the ninja 650 (which I think is smaller), katana (If you like em), bandits and the fz.  They are all good bikes, its just finding the one that works for you.

There is no 2007 GSX650F.  Only 2008 and 2009.

If that question was about the FZ6, I don't know the answer.

A big +1 to that.

KillerKatana, please make the map pictures in you signature smaller.

Here is a link, just create the small size.  http://www.epgsoft.com/VisitedStatesMap/

Or just put these in your sig, without a return between them so they stay on the same line:
