At Nationals in WV a couple years ago, everyone arrived late in the day, hung out that night...and the following day was just "go for a ride around the area" day...and everyone came back to the hotel and went to dinner that night. Then everyone left on day 3.

Is that what's happening in Eureka Springs? Or not? I'm getting the impression that this will be more of a "blow in late, spend the night, and hit the road for home the next morning" kind of event.

Maybe a better question is...how many people are planning to spend 2 nights in Eureka Springs before heading for home? And is it "everyone for themselves" as far as local riding? Or is anyone gonna work up a local ride route or two?

I am taking the whole week off so I am up in the air to either ride around there or find some roads around my new home town.

R Doug and I will be there Mon and Tues nights (rather than the more typical Tues/Wed combo).

No doubt there will be some nice local day ride routes posted between now and then. The problem is that are too many good roads to ride.

Joe! You're going to come? Cyjo & I are going to travel at least partway together. We can make it a FL-AR convoy if you want. Is your passenger coming?  I've been using her buff trick, and it's been awesome for keeping my hair presentable after rides. Please tell her thanks for the tip!        Thumbsup

Hey Steff...

I'm most definitely planning on it.  I just heard yesterday that I may have to represent our department over in the UK that month but I'm hoping that will be the following week (fingers crossed).  I hope Terra is coming.  Luggage may be a huge concern.  She'd rather ride on the Duc than the FJR, so I've got to figure out a way to carry some extra gear for her.  I'm glad the buff deal is working out for you.  She loves it and would definitely be a mess without it.  I'll pass on your thanks...she'll get a kick out of the fact that you like it so.

I'm glad you'll be there as well.  For those of you who haven't met Steff...she is a super lady and a lot of fun to hang out with!!   Thumbsup  Seems like we'll even be staying in the same motel.  I, too, got a double on the off chance that Terra can't make it.

A FL-AR convoy sounds like fun.  I'm probably going to slab it out of FL and then hit state roads/county roads the rest of the way.  Sometime over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to try to work out a rough route.  That is unless someone out there already has a nice path to follow...

Cheers,

Joe

At this point I'm planning to be there the nights of Monday the 9th through Wednesday the 11th, leaving for home on Thursday the 12th.  If everything works out I'll be camping at the Kettle Campgrounds.

EDIT:

I've got campsite T8 for those nights.
