It's that time of year again to see if we can organize another Meet & Greet for riders in Southern New England.  We did it for the first time in 2005 and had about 50 riders.  We repeated in 2006 but the rain kept the numbers low.  Last year the temperature was down in the 30's and 40's, but we still had a lot of people show up.  Let's keep it going this year.  It's a great way to re-connect with your friends, meet new ones and show off your new rides/farkles.

Hi Keith,

I should be able to make this. I'm looking forward to it.

I've never been on one of these rides, but I'm interested in joining.

The question is -- which bike to ride?  How brisk is the pace and will there be highways involved?

Dude, if it's broken in by then, yes!  I'm hearing a lot of issues with oil consumption on the 08's and need to be especially careful.  I still don't have it yet; it's being delivered on Monday.

As far as pace of the ride...it's really ride at your own pace.  Last year we split up the Windsor group into "fast" and "slow" and that worked out fine.  I would empathize to bring a map and be responsible for finding your own way to Great Barrington just in case.  That way you won't get sucked into keeping a pace you are uncomfortable with.

This isn't a fast pace ride, the emphasis is on socializing.  But I know there are sections (Rte. 8) where the natural inclination is to wick it up.  Take responsibility for yourself.

There won't be any highway riding except to get to the initial meet spot in the morning.  We'll be on two lane state roads all day.

Hey Guys,

I am a new joiner to this site, but this looks  like a cool ride. I will most certainly be there, the only question in my mind is when to leave. I could either leave after work on Friday or start off early Saturday morning.  I will be traveling from Southern Catskill mountains in New York. Looking forward to a great ride. I ride all winter long with Ramapo MC as part of the Polar Bear Grand Tour from October to April.

I seem to recall us moving at quite the pace on route 9 over hogback.  Lots of fun.  99% sure I'll be attending again.

I had the KLR pinned the entire way up the mountian. On the VT side I had it at 99 MPH indicated on I 91. I could not get it to hit 100 with my big ass on it....

The Honda has the wind protection and powerlets for the heated gear.  Plus, Route 8 is just a little too straight to keep up with Norm if you know what I mean. Bigsmile Wink
