A nice day in Suffolk

Here's a pic of the concrete motorcycle pad at our Public Works trailer complex!
I am standing next to my Hayabusa, so there's really 4 bikes in the lot. The orange/black one is an 08 (stock), the blue one has a little chrome, swing arm extenders, a little bit of paint work and big fat chrome grips, the last one is stretched, lowered, chromed, and is missing one rotot up front. Then there's my dirty ass, daily rider with grimey chain slobber on the wheel and swing arm, brake dust on the wheels and a tank and tail bag. It's quite a study in the versatility of the Bus!
Nice warm day today, really windy in the PM. Cold coming back in this weekend to try to break me down mentally one last time before spring really gets here in a few weeks. Nice to see the coworkers bringing theirs out of hibernation.

That is the Public Works compound on Carolina Rd. Are you a local?
Today we had another new 08 show up. I made it out of my office in time to leave out with 3 Hayabusa's in tow. A nice long wheelie onto Carolina Rd, the onto the bypass and I was on my way home.

Ohhhhh, I forget that there's another Suffolk up there!!
This picture from a good day in Suffolk, Virginia. Guess you won't be stopping by?
Hope you have a day like what we had today soon enough.

I don't ride leisurely around here much, mostly commute. Sometimes I'll ride around the area, but after 10 years and enough trips to the mountains, I am soured on the riding here.
There is a Sunday breakfast/motorcycle meet up in Richmond the 2nd Sunday of each month. I'll try to go to the next one, but it interferes with some family commitments, even though the family DOES ride with me.
If you've got plans to go through the south end of Suffolk during the week, let me know in advance, I'll meet up with you when I'm supposed to be working and point you in the direction of some "decent" roads.

My wife works at a hospital here in Suffolk that was pretty much in the path. She's fine, some good sized hunks of whatever hit her car and caused a couple super terrific dents, shitty.
A BRAND NEW strip mall right by the hospital collapsed/was smashed to the ground.
One reported death.
A nerve racking ride home, we don't see tornados here. I was at a point where I couldn't stop and couldn't turn back, I simply needed to get home to the girls.

I found a new use for my motorcycle gear today...cowering in my laundry room wearing my helmet and armored jacket "just in case" after seeing one of the funnel clouds approaching. Fortunately, it went by us, but unfortunately, it tore up a neighborhood near the local hospital that Rude_Rydah mentioned.

Good news is, the one reported death has been recanted. Still 200+ injured and a lot of damage done. Not a nice day in Suffolk.

I try not to go to Va Beach for too much. I hear good things about it, but I'm no big fan of the beach and/or Harley lifestyles...
Those of us in the Tidewater area ought to get together sometime, though for a short ride; Pungo and Blackwater are nice.

Yes, we should. I've ridden through pungo twice. We could go for some lunch or something. I'm not into the harley/cruiser scene either. Way too boring. Doing anything this weekend????

Gerry, Yup, it's me. I FINALLY have some spring/summer months at home to ride this year
Wait til you see what followed me home from the BMW dealer last month
I thought that the VA Beach Bike Classic was a Harley love-fest too, so I'm more open to a ride and lunch. I haven't been down to the Pungo area in a while, so that would be great. Either day would be OK for me, no plans other than house/yard work that I've been blowing off and going for a ride anyway.
I just saw luvtoride last weekend, and can check to see if she is interested. I don't think she follows this board too much anymore.

Oh great.. what did you get now? Still have the vfr and bandit? + a beemer????
I've been off the boat lately due to my shoulder surgery. Heidi might have told you. I've been riding to work when I can. Pending no rain and tornado's. There is a kite festival at the beach this saturday also. I was thinking of taking the family over there. I know Heidi wants to go for a ride. Let me know...
Oh, I also will be transfering this summer (1 July) and moving to ESDD Louisville, KY.
