We are coming down, staying in Townsend, TN...

Anyone interested in meeting up and either riding or sharing a meal?

We arrive on Thursday 3/27/08 and will be in the area until Saturday 3/29/08...

Please post up if interested or have any suggestions for restaurants.

I like Townsend. Its the mid point on my 600 mile route thru east Tn so I am by no means local. I always stop and have lunch at the Carriage House. Really Good. Its on the South side of of the hwy up on a hill between the traffic light at 321 and Little River Road. There is no end to good places to eat in Townsend and even better riding. You may not have time to eat. The guy's over at www.easttnriders.com can (and will) help with local details if you need them. Its probably just me but I would NOT go toward Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge for any reason. HTH...Ed

Thanks for the input, It is not just you Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge will be avoided.

The other guys have stayed in Townsend before which is the reason they choose to go back. I am looking forward to staying there as all th recommendations agree with you.

We plan to stop outside of Louisville the Wednesday night and back road it to Townsend on Thursday.   I am really hoping to meet some R5 riders on the trip.

I just picked up Tourmaster's rain gear to go over everthing else.  I am glad they had 4XL in stock, I think they are cut/sized to wear alone.  Which would leave one very unprotected.

So now that I spen the extra cash you can bet it will not rain on us....  Lol

It is too bad no one wanted to or was able to meet up with us.  I know I will be back so maybe next time.

David, as you know I'm out of the country right now, but when I am in the area I'll be more than happy to go riding with you guys.  I'm glad you had a great time!
