Philistine.  Twofinger

Yes, the sound can be terrible, but as mentioned in another thread, it's all down to the 'engineer'. I saw a Ted Nugent/Scorpions concert that was crap, but the ZZ Top show was most exellent.

Actually I have seen a LOT of concerts at the Cow Palace. I remember singing "bring your daughter... bring your daughter.. to the slaaaugghteeeer" when Iron Maiden came into town sometime in the early 90s (or was that 89?). Lots of good memories there.... but I won't miss it that much if it goes.  Bigsmile

ST.N needed an old fashioned Cow Palace nostalgia smackdown.

As a midwestern transplant, I've only been there for the bike shows and one AKC show so I don't have an emotional attachment other than trying to wear my wrist bands just like Rick Barry did.

I saw the Amnesty international show there, and The Wall.  Excellent sound both times.

I'm not really going to miss it, though.

The Palace of Moo has great historical value.

It's where The Who pulled a punter out of the crowd to play drums because Moon had passed out. From what I've heard, he did quite well.

Eisenhower spoke there. The Warriors (now the most entertaining NBA team, evar) played there. The San Jose Sharks started their expansion team efforts there. Anyone remember the Spiders?

Hell, it was a place to buy guns and learn how to hide your weed.

Sure, tear it down. Progress is progress, I guess, but I will shed a tear.

 Lol

you wouldn't believe that if it was a Hollywood script.  Bigsmile

"Uhmm...anyone know how to play the drums?"

"Is there a drummer here?"
