Two-piece 'Stich bought.....lessee know....the Earth HAD cooled....the last of the dinosaurs were dying...guess it's been a while.  I think Andy hisself did the sewing.

The only time I augmented my 'Stich with plastic was my trip to Alaska and back.  I figured there was a good chance we'd have to spend the night camping rather than in a motel, so keeping the suit drier was required.  A yellow Dry-Rider two-piece did the trick, size XXX.

Otherwise, the 'Stich works well by itself.  I do indeed treat it twice a year per the Owner's Manual.

Also, it depends on the bike when regarding pooling.  The noisy dopey-a** funny-looking stock Concours windscreen keeps all water out of the cockpit and away from your crotch.  But, a straight after-market unit looks bitchin, but the rain slides right up and over, and does a swan dive right into the family jewels.

The bike you're on will certainly make a difference.

+1

Although my two piece is pretty waterproof, it's not as good as a dedicated one piece rain suit. Light showers, no problem, but more than 20-30 minutes of driving rain and I'll have the famous wet crouch. But my bike offer nil in the way of protection; I imagine the experience behind a fully fair bike would be very different.

My 1-piece Roadcrafter is usually pretty good. Butt, there have been a couple of times when I got the soaking crotch. The last straw was when I was in a real frog strangler for a few hours. I was pretty drenched when it was over, and very unhappy. So I bought myself a 2-piece Daren for extended road trips. Now I only wear the Roadcrafter for commuting and day rides. In short duration rains it's fine. Never again will I take the chance of getting caught in extended rain without the Darien.
