I have yet to see a thread about this issue. Not like I want to create work and expense for anyone, but....

Last time we met at ES Dred got stuck with some major expenses. We need to spread the pain more evenly this time.

I've been thinking about this from time to time.

Registration fees will be forthcoming, once we decide on shirts/designs (and associated costs), extracurricular activities, funds needed for door prizes, maybe a rally pin since we haven't done that before.  I was going to hit up DD and Dogboy and others involved in this process in the past.

Anyone want to get involved in the planning of dinners, design of logos/shirts, and plotting of other niceties  please PM me and we'll get a committee going.  Within a few weeks I want to have a reg. fee established (voluntary!  only register if you want the stuff and wanna be eligible for door prizes) at which point I'll set up a Paypal account for fee-ing.  All accounting will be posted here, and any slush left over gets donated to ST.N on behalf of all of us.

PS - Thanks Jon for kicking me back into gear.  Lookin forward to seeing you again.  Bigok

Oooooh, pins! How exciting! (said completely not tongue-in-cheek)  Bigsmile

I'll confess to my dorkdom. I have a collection of pins. Yep. I'm a total dork, and I have the pins to prove it.  Embarassment

Then we'd need something to pin it on.

You've never put a pin through a textile jacket?  I've got a couple from the Parry Sound sportbike rally as well as by IBA pin poked through my FirstGear.  Haven't noticed any water coming in from it, either.

eh, no biggie.  If there's no demand, there's no need.

Guess I just associate the wearing of ride pins more with the cruiser set.

Now a T-shirt, yeah - I'd be all over that.

Eh, never hung out with the cruiser set.  Didn't realize my pins were uncool to sportbikers.  I shall put them in a box and never speak of them again.  Razz

We needs us a design.  Something which truly evokes the experience of sport-touring the Ozarks.  I'd also like to see a cougar and a Canadian in there somewhere.  Any ideas, y'all?

Oh, stop it.  Didn't say they were "uncool" - just said I associate 'em more with the cruiser set.  Speaking only for m'self, I don't care to poke holes in my textile riding gear that might let the wet stuff in; and if I take a tumble I don't want anything sharp poking holes in me.

Now some kinda rally decal, like the oval S-T.N. decals, that I could stick on my panniers - that'd be good IMO.

I attended one GWRRA meet, in 1998 when I bought my first Wing; a GL1500SE.

I was the only single rider there; and the only person not dressed for a square dance (I was in full leathers w/FF lid).  We met at some buffet-style place to say hello and have coffee; then we rode 50 miles on major highways in staggered formation at 1 mph below the speed limit to another lunch place, where we had pie and more coffee; then everyone said goodbye.

Substitute 150 miles, back roads, at 20+ over and really it's not too different from a Region 4 coffee meet.
