Good Friday, I'm off work, my kids are in school, looks like a nice day weather wise. Who's going riding in the East TN, Western NC?

I rode my R1 to work...and I'll ride home again.  That's about it...   Sad  But it was a beautiful morning...cool temps with a full moon.   Thumbsup

Cheers,

Joe

I am riding the new to me Ural up to the dealer in Waynesboro, TN.  It has developed a pretty bad oil leak that is causing the clutch to slip a bit.  Since it is covered under warrenty I figured I would let the dealer do the work.  Especially since pulling the clutch appears to be a PIA.

A little over a hundred miles.  Temps are 35 right now but should be in the sixties by the time I get there.  Its a beatch that the beast has developed a problem but will be a nice ride anyway.

Met for Breakfast at Bob Evans, then rode a combination of I-26 and back roads to Erwin for fuel and a bathroom break (too much coffee at Bobs). From there we took 352 over into NC down 212, 208, then 209 through Hot Springs, down to Trust where we took 63 over to Asheville, I love that route. Had lunch outside at the Wild Wing Cafe, then went down to Myers to drool Drool over the new Ducatis. They even had a new 1098R ($40,000) it had a sign on it that read
Yes that is real Carbon Fiber
Yes is does have 180 HP
Yes it does have true programable traction control
Yes it is a race bike with lights
No you can't sit on it, unless you have $40,000 to spend on a bike.
Please don't touch, thump, squeeze or sit on.
It is gorgeous, but $40,000 is enough to by a fleet of bikes.

From there we wound our way up to 19/23 north back into TN via Flag Pond, Erwin over Buffalo Mountain and home. About 200 miles, cool in the am, really nice on the way home, I'm glad spring and daylight savings and the racing season have finally arrived.
