I had a small tip over on my 05 ST.  I’m trying to determine if I may have bent the right hand side rear-set.  I also broke off the foot peg. Crazy Sad  I have measured the distance from the heal guard to the heat shield on the exhaust pipe as about 13mm.  I was hoping to get few others who’s 05 or greater ST’s have remained up right to measure the same spot on there bikes to help me tell if my rear set is bent.

Here is a photo of the measurement on my maybe bent rear-set.

This latest small tip over/crash fits the trend; I have fallen off ever motorcycle I have owned!  So at least I got that out of the way on this bike.

Thanks.

Mine measures 13 mm. Keep in mind that mine has been down on the right side as well but I don't think it's bent.

Interesting coincidence, while washing the Sprint today, I found the right side heel guard loose. Interesting to me, at least.

I got 14 mm.  Never down on right side.  I think you both need to adjust 1 mm.   Bigsmile

Well, crap.

I was thinking 3banger was being a little picky about this but I guess mine is out of whack too. Off to get the pry bar and calibrate the heel guard. Lol

Me picky....never  EEK!  Thanks for measuring your bikes for me.  I'm not going to worry about a mm or three.  I had never really payed any attention to the clearance between the heal guard and exhaust before and for all I new it was bent in 1/2 an inch.  I will be shopping ebay for a right side silver fairing  Sad.  Though bikebandit does have a new one for 416 bucks...I wonder what shipping costs?

On a positive note all of us are getting very similar number (including a guy on t595.net) and it shows good build consistency from Triumph. Having exhaust system and heat shield tolerances with in a mm is pretty good.

Definitely keep an eye on ebay for that fairing. There were several pop up a couple months ago, I picked one up for $65 + $15 shipping.  It's got a few scuffs on it but other than that it's perfect, even the right color.

When you start riding around with some roadrash (or another color fairing piece like MCH) I reckon you stop worrying about whether something is "too bent" lol.

I have some Ebay "pretty" fairings but I still ride with the ugly ones.  Ehh....

MCH, good looking avatar!

I believe that is what the kids call 'street cred' these days.
I'm just waiting for the weather to turn bad so I can pull it off and paint it anything other than red. Damn 60 degree weather in January sucks, don't it?

Lets call it "make sure your kickstand is down" In my defense it was 6:00 am I went to bed around 1 am. I wasn't tired just totaly thought i had put it down.   Bigok
