Depends on where, the canyon country in the south its going to warm if not hot. North in the high Unitas some of the passes may still be snowed in, and there may a lot of variety of weather in between.  Some the best riding period is in Utah, you can go from hot red desert to snow topped mountains in 20 miles.  Have fun.  l live SLC Utah and recomend getting some canyon roads in.

Depends... if you stay in the valleys you'll be fine. The mountain passes (i.e., the good roads) will still likely be closed. Highway 12 is open year-round IIRC. It's worth the trip.

Check the weather report, though. Depending on which way you go, you can easily be up over 8000 feet on that route.

Take enough clothes to keep warm but expect some heat as well and you should have an excellent time! Thumbsup

I'd like to go thru Taos, Chama, Silverton, and ouray. Then up Dolorse canyon to Moab. But the mountian range thru the Co has me a little worried. I guess I'll check on it in a month and see.

Chama to Antonito is a wonderful ride! Taos is a traffic and tourist nightmare, but the hills east of there are to die for. Silverton & Ouray should be at the top of your list of place to ride before you die!

Enjoy your trip.  Smile

Most of the high-mountain passes up north do not open until memorial day weekend - possibly later this year.  Stay south for best results.
