Let's get a T-shirt design happening so that we can a good price quote on shirts. I need to nail down dinner and T-shirt costs before I can open up event registration. R Doug has offered to lead the charge on the T-shirt front.

I believe the current thinking is to marry the Marlinton Autumn Festival "Roadkill Cookoff" (happening the same weekend) with the twisties/mountains of WV in a design/slogan. The ESTN info web page currently has the working slogan of "Twisty Thrills and Roadkill" with this bit of clipart that I nabbed somewhere on the web:

http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i150/garrysimmons/ESTN2008/roadkill.png

So the rough T-shirt idea is to put the STN oval logo on the front (see below) and some kind of ESTN2008 logo on the back that integrates WV twisties and the cookoff. That's where we need some input: we need an event logo. Maybe something as simple as a WV state silhouette with the possum clipart and some cool lettering with the slogan. I'm totally open to ideas.

I think its possum, but will  it be cooked ?
if so, how?
sounds like"bubba gump-WV style"
baked, boiled,fried,kabobs,stewed, etc.

ST.n on the front and
ESTN  08  with "Roadkill" on the back.

Definitely.

If you go with the road kill theme, I suggest a silhouette of VW containing a twisty road or several through it with a few small road kill graphics representing different species along side the numbered routes that lead to icons for Marlinton and of course the Roadkill Cafe, on the map put a motorcycle graphic passing over or past one of the roadkill graphics.  Maybe throw in a Road Kill logo or a slogan like "Road Kill, It's what's for dinner" or  nother idea, "Marlinton, Where Sport-Touring meets(makes) dinner (or hunting, possum stew, etc.)'',  parentheses being alternatives.

OK, here's my first attempt. Consider it fodder for something better perhaps. I like that it's simple and clean (easy/cheap) and includes the STN URL, location and date.

And here's a blank WV state outline for anyone that wants to play too:

Great ideas everyone.

I like the simplicity of the dead opossum graphic.  What I was thinking was to have the dead opossum in the foreground with a spoke motorcycle wheel in the background.

I’m not an artist, but I was thinking something like this…

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c132/doog71/ESTN%2008/ESTN08.jpg

(This would look at lot better is someone who knew what they are doing did it)

Then the top part of the back of the shirt would read:

ESTN 2008

Then, the text around the tire would read:

Twisty Thrills & Roadkill

And finally, the bottom part of the back of the shirt would read:

Marlinton, WV

Conceptually I like Windblown's idea, but anything is cool by me.
BTW I intend to try to be there--just haven't signed up yet because I'm having some medical problems, and cannot at this point say definitely I will be there.

I like Windblown's idea too, but I would take out the WV emblem and have a larger image of the roadkill on it.  Thumbsup

This is just a rough, and I couldn't find the right font, but you get the idea...

Steph, that's a great adaptation of Windblown's image.  Like others, I really liked Windblow's concept, but thought it was a little busy.

What does everyone think of this evolution?  I like the roadsign and dead opossum.
