According to WCYB News:

"The Tennessee Highway Patrol has received a grant of 36 thousand dollars, and they plan to spend it on increasing patrols on one section of Highway 421 in the Shady Valley community. They say the problem is motorcycle riders like to travel at high speeds on that section, and the state highway patrol wants to cut down on the number of accidents there."

Another area station reported that THP will be implementing cameras as well as increased radar along US 421 due to its use as an illegal race track. Not surprising considering all of the "Home Track 421" stickers that can be seen plastered all over helmets and bikes there every nice weekend.

Luckily, most squid stick to "The Snake" and leave the good riding unmolested. There is plenty of good riding in the area that thankfully gets little attention. You won't find any stickers for my favorite roads.

Anyway, y'all watch out if you venture towards Shady.

That's why you do it once or twice, get your sticker and move along. Bigsmile

There are sooo many other good roads that are still out there to find. No sense in hanging with the squids and collecting tickets. Unless of course your into that thing.

Last time I was up there there were two cars at the store and two down the road on 91.  Even if they get more cash, that doesn't equate to more total officers.  Sooooo, if they are all on the Snake, they ain't somewhere else  Bigok

Last time I was at the store, a bunch of squids were telling tales of encounters with the law.
They seem to enjoy it, I thing they like talking about riding, getting harassed by the law, running from the law more than they like riding. Headscratch
"Yea, I'd be laying some serious times through those curves, if it wasn't for the law out there"

Of course I was on my way home having ridden over 200 miles of twisties starting in TN, crossing into NC, and back into TN without seeing any LEO other than at Shady Valley. Wink
