I have a vtx 1300 mustang seat, memphis shades screen,4" risers, hwy pegs on engine guard, leatherlyke bags, upgraded grips and it improved the long distance ride considerably. 185 miles later when i have to get gas, i still need to walk for 20 30 minutes to get my @$$ end and legs working again. Don't get me wrong, I really like my VTX but I really covet a S/T! Did not know I really needed a S/T till I rode a BMW GT 1200. Man oh Man it is A SWEET RIDE!!!
fast, comfortable handles like a dream and I could carry on a conversation with the driver. Yea, my friend would not let me drive it ( I did not ask anyway) We talked about his bike, and he offered to carry me for a ride, and I have to say I am hooked!! Can't justify another bike right know, need a place to live ya know. But, in the very near future God willing and the creek don't rise I will have a S/T of some sort. Looking at all the options out there is actually mind boggling.Lot of good S/T options to choose from. Oh, so many bikes and not enough cash.  Lol

Did an SS1K this past March on a Vulcan 900 Classic with a mustang touring seat and a big windshield. No problems.

Hello.  Does anyone ride Iron Butt on a cruiser (Harley or metric)?  If so, what cruiser(s) have you ridden, how far, and would you do it again?  Also - did/do you ride with or without windshield/bags?

Thanks.

Best thing to do is just troll through the IBA ride finishers list.

I haven't done an IBA ride, but I rode a VTX1800 700mi. in 10 hours. it killed my lower back and shoulders for some reason? I can actually ride farther more comfortably on my CBR than I could on the VTX (plus it's way more fun!). For true high mileage days I think the FJR is hard to beat (ST1300 would be the same I assume, but I've never ridden one).
