I will be riding the Utah1088 in June of 2008.  First LD Rally for me.  My friend Rachel convinced me to tag along with her.  The GS will be nice to have for the ride.   Bigok

I haven't ridden the 1088 yet, and I'll miss it this year b/c I'm deployed to Afghanistan through November or so. But I do plan on riding the Cal 24, 1088, and possibly the Land of Enchantment 1000 in '09. Especially since I missed the application window for the IBR. I've paid for the Cal 24 3 times, ridden it twice. Last year I missed it b/c the Navy "needed" me in Korea at the last minute. I've heard great thing about the 1088, and look forward to riding it!

Steve Chalmers puts on a first class rally, and is a first class guy! You won't be disappointed in the 1088. This is a tough 24 hour event, with a competetive contigent you won't see at some rallies. If you do well here, then you're doin well everywhere.
 Cool

Since 2009 is an IBR year, I'd suggest getting your application in for the 2008 Utah 1088 soon. There are 100 riders, currently looking for every rally they can ride this summer.  Smile It's going to fill up fast.

The UTAH 1088 is great.  Just watch out for that Frank Taylor character.  He's bad news.   Lol

Go to http://www.utah1088.com and read the rider stories. I wrote one for our 2-up ride in 2005, http://www.utah1088.com/riderstories/2005_Utah1088_TripReport.swf.

Steve puts on a first rate rally and very well organized. Steve is a class act. You meet some really great people there, lots of parking lot tire kicking. Utah has some incredible motorcycle roads and Steve takes you on many of them. The scenery is awesome!! It is a tough rally, last year it was in the high 90s all day, and then needed the Gerbings at night.
