100k on a Sportster

I forgot to post this earlier.  I've never met this man, but I have heard the stories.  He's not right in the head

Details:
- 1 top-end rebuild (I don't know if this was needed or if he just did it for fun)
- 1 owner.  Purchased new in 2002.

Here's him + bike back in 2007 at the NEDoD Leaf Peep (which I didn't attend).  Note the beefy fork brace, steering damper and minuscule chicken strips on round-profile tires (yes, he hangs off in turns, as I understand it).

Impressive.  I put 10k miles on a sporty in the last 9 months, and that was enough for me.  And I had a new, rubber-mount model.  Running a Sporty for 100k...that requires dedication.

That is impressive! Sportys are solid bikes. One finished third in last years Iron Butt.

Iv'e seen 2 sportys with over 100,000 miles. Both women riders, both 05 883's, both have won Harley's ABC's of touring on their Sportsters one in 2005 and one in 2006.
