Anyone know if there are any differences between the 07 and 08 990 Adventure?  Base model, not the S (too tall for me!).
Thanks!

No changes. Identical. There is rumor and speculation of an eventual 1190 but not for a while.

I finally sat on a 990 (non S) and it wasn't as bad as I though it would be with my short inseam.  I would LOVE to test one sometime.

atadaskew, are you considering one?

Here's da ting... I'm Austrian by nationality (even though I've never lived there), and I've started to visit family over there in 'my' hometown of Bregenz.  I'm going again in July, so out of curiousity I looked up local moto dealerships to see what was around.  Out of all the non Japanese brands (I didn't look those up), only KTM has a dealership in Bregenz.
Maybe a sign? Hmm?...
(I'm also 1/4 Italian via me mum's side so that esplains the Ducati part)...

Always lookin' and there is a shop kinda close to me that has a great deal on an 07. eaglerider in santa monica rents KTM Adventures so maybe I should take one for a spin once I get a chance.

I've heard this too. Supposedly the RC8 engine was built with a v-angle chosen to accommodate a 21" front wheel....

If you ride one, you'll buy it. Yeah, I rolled my eyes when the guys in the shop here told me that. They had a demo and I took it up to our ski area last fall - pavement to the top then dirt.

When I returned they said, "See you in a week."

It took a month but only because I was busy.

This is a old thread but I wonder if the 990 (non S) can be lowered any at all?

I remember reading and also being told by a 990 demo rider that the 07's fuel injection was very sensitive (jerky throttle control) but this was cured or improved on the 08 model.  Shrug

Over in Orange Crush on Advrider I think there were a few people that lowered theirs. FI is the same on the 08 as far as I know. There was a TSB issued by KTM on this and it helped...some. Mine isn't bad. Most people are installing a G2 throttle cam:
