Spencer's seat mods seems like a workable alternative to spending the big bucks on a Corbin.

I'm wanting to get my seat modified by Spencer (http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php) but am not wanting to have a bike without a seat for a week or two. Soooo... I was wondering if there's anyone with a Corbin/Sargent that might let me use their seat. The way I'm envisioning it is that you mail your seat to Spencer (I pay shipping + a thank you fee), he mails the modded seat to me, I mail my stock (mint) seat to you...

Anyone be willing to go along with such a scheme? I don't have many posts here, but do have good feedback on ebay (jharding42) and have been a long time poster over at triumphrat.net (rustbucket). Anyone think this scheme might be workable, or should I just resign myself to having the bike off the road for a week or two?

Actually the easiest thing would probably be you ship the seat to me, I put it on my bike and ship out my seat, it gets back, I return your seat...  Headscratch

Just get a good deal.  Buy one.  Then resell it.

What happend to the stocker?  I'm sure they can be had for cheap.

That's what i had decided to do, until I looked into shipping costs. The mods only cost $75.00, but I'd have to pay shipping to get the cheap spare to me, shipping on my seat to Florida and shipping back from Florida. Then I'd sell the spare and have to ship it out again!

Besides the cost (which still would've been less than a Sargent), I am just way too damn lazy to deal with that. I just bit the bullet and ordered up a Sargent. I figure I can swap it off if I ever sell the bike and recoup some of the initial expense anyway.

The RAM mount for my GPS came in today, the seat is in the mail, I'm picking up some stompgrip for the tank at a local shop tomorrow... I'm going to run out of things to change!  Smile
