I don't know about X configuration. It looks like a 4 cylinder rotary.

If you look at the other pictures in the article, the view from the other side clearly shows 4 cylinders each 90 degrees apart.  Interesting, but it looks like a packaging nightmare to me.  Its also listed as 110hp.  Isn't that a little low for a 500cc two stroke?

I'd hate to catch that lower cylinder on a curb or something!   Crazy  The lack of ground clearance is probably just a trick of the camera.
