Hey Everyone,

Have any of you ever tried this?  Headscratch
http://www.cyclegear.com/spgm.cfm?item=MRX_MSW3

I just found it online. I have a Shoei RF-1000 and wear plugs but still have a lot of wind noise. I noticed that if I shrug my shoulders and use my jacket as a skirt it helps a bit. I was thinking of using a scarf but its getting too warm for that now. Curious to see if there are any first hand experiences.

Thanks Bigsmile

I don't know if I can delete this, but I found the same thing.

Crazy Oops. I call it a wind stop, others call it a skirt.

I used a similar product by Noj several years ago.  Worked well for noise reduction (and also warmth in wintertime), although it did increase fogging until I also got a Fog City Fog Shield installed.

The disadvantages are (1) a little more difficult to don/doff your lid, and (2) the thing sometimes wants to release itself from the helmet opening when you're handling the helmet or donning/doffing.  (It had NO tendency to come off when riding, I should make clear.)

I had the NOJ Quiet Rider also and really liked it once I had the helmet on, but I also found it a bit of a hassle.  It definitely made things warmer and quieter.  A taller windscreen helped solve the noise problem and I wear a balaclava when it is cold, so I ditched the helmet skirt.

I ended up getting the Windjammer, and took it for a ride yesterday. It didn't do a thing to help me but for others it might prove beneficial, although I will keep it around for winter riding as it did decrease the amount of air moving into my helmet. I guess in my case I am gonna have to get custom ear plugs. It is impossible to get my right ear plug to seal properly, and I am plagued by a booming noise that is very tiring while I am out riding. The only way to get any sort of respite from the noise is to wear my Etymotics, and there are times when I don't want the music, and the Ety's are also a little uncomfortable over longer periods of time.
