Are the Sidi Sport Tepor boots any good? I can't see how Lorica is better than real leather. Is $130 a good price for these boots? I do know that they are made in Romania. I don't know if that is good or bad.

I've never seen a bad product from Sidi.  Their Lorica seems pretty damned good, too.  I have a number of pairs of Sidi cycling shoes and motorcycling boots, and all have been very good, well-made footwear.

I have the Sidi Strada Evo Tepor, also made out of lorica. I find it a durable material.

As for the Tepor part, however, my mileage has varied dramatically...

I've worn Sidi Sport Tepor's for 11,000 miles, over a year and a half.  I like them on the bike, and I've liked them for the moderate off bike use I've had.  I can't really vouch for their water resistance because I try to stay out of the rain.

The Lorica has held up well and they look near new.  The only thing, is sometimes I wish they were a little taller boot when I'm wearing pants that are short or that tend to ride up the leg.

I couldn't find any discounts on them when I was shopping, so I paid the $180 retail price at a local shop.

I've had the previous gen for over two years now and about 25,000 miles.  I like 'em, and wear them to work every day.  Some nits:

The velcro holding on the lower straps tends to pop off and give the boots "wings" at random times.
The buckles holding the straps broke pretty quickly and had to be fixed by a cobbler (cheap).
They make my feet smell like a brewery.
They are no longer waterproof.  Not even a little.
They'll need a resole soon.  Again, I wear them to work every day.

However, they've already saved my toe and ankle on a 30 mph lowside where the bike landed on my foot longways, and my cobbler was able to restore them to ugly but mostly functional glory.

Post crash:

I don't know why people complain about lorica.  I just retired a pair of cycling shoes that saw probably about 40k miles and more than one drenching in the rain.  Really the only thing wrong with them is the velcro is totally shot.  Replaced with another pair of Sidis.  I'll still use them as a shitty weather shoe.

People complain about motorcycle boot prices.  If you pay full retail you can easily drop over $450 for a pair tiny little Sidi cycling shoes.
Sidi is a very reliable bet when it comes to foot wear.

Brewery? In my case, think "Louisiana swamp infested with decaying zombies" (when wet. hold the zombies if they're dry.)

I wasn't complaining about Lorica. I made the statement that, I can't see how it can be as good as leather. Does the Lorica let your foot breath, or does it tend to hold in the persperation somewhat, like rubber.

Hint: make sure your reply is below the [ / quote ].

Anyhow, Lorica seems to breathe about as well as leather.  I've got about 40,000 miles in a pair of Sidi Vertebras, and still find them a great boot under almost any conditions.  They aren't waterproof, but they are very water resistant.  They don't have the vents on the side, so they get warm in hot weather, but I can live with that.  In fact, I have no real complaints at all.  When they finally do wear out, I'll buy another pair.

My  Sidi cycling shoes have a lot of mesh so hard to judge that.  I did briefly have a pair of strada tepor boots.  I did not find them to be unreasonably hot.  They seemed well made (after riding with them I just didn't like the style) and if Sidi offered a style that I preferred over my Daytona Road Star GTX boots I'd save some money and go with them.  But I am not expecting my Daytona boots to need replacing any time soon.  One of the best purchases I've ever made.
