Couple of VFR ?'s before I buy.

Hey guys,
I am in the market for a vfr for me. I've had a few vfr's over the years and am interested in getting another one. I have found a 2006 Silver ABS model with 5920 miles for $6900 and also a 2007 Anniversary non abs for $9500. I'm not above buying a new one but would like to save the money if I could. The thing is I really like the anniversary color scheme and the fact that I would have a warranty. The '06 is out of warranty so it would be an as-is sale. I will be setting it up with GIVI sidecases and using it to commute on some during the week plus some weekend riding when time allows. Thanks.

Flip a coin. If you're releived, you have your answer. If you're not immediately happy with the result, you have your answer. This is how I handle all of my important decisions.
Personally, I don't put much value on warranties. I figure, if you feel like you need a warranty, you don't have much faith in the manufacturer. I haven't encountered any "waranty ssues" with my 20 year old Hawk or my 11 year old VFR. I'd go with the cheaper '06.

I don't think that much goes wrong with these bikes so warranty might not be that big of a deal.
I have heard that the anniversary colors are faster than silver though.
Is that $9500 otd?

Heckuva deal for the '06. Is the RWB that important? I think the silver looks really classy on the VFR. Like a silver Porsche.
Not many issues with the VFRs. There was one recall for a wiring harness on the 6th gens, but I daresay it was fixed by '06...
I envy you on the new bike. I love my 2000 but sometimes my heart could be led astray. The RWB is a bike that could do it...

I could be wrong, but I believe that the mighty VFR did not come in silver for 2006. The two colors that year were pearl white and bass boat black. Now in 2005, they did offer a silver.

Thanks for the info guys. I"m going to go by and look at the silver one today. If it is in the condition they claim it is then I'll probably buy it. If the anniversary was an abs then I would definitely be going that route but for a commuting bike I'm wanting abs. Thanks again.

What country are you in? In the U.S. for 2006, as stated, the colors were Pearl White and Bass Boat Black. Silver was 2003 and 2005. Honda made some revisions to the VTEC for smoother engagement starting in 2006.

The factory Honda hard bags for the anni edition are comour matched in Pearl Spencer Blue.
Would look much nicer than GIVI bags, but more $$$$
Standard Black Givi bags would be great on a silver bike tho.
If you want to check pricing on the OEM bags from a less expensive source than your local Honda Emporium, check out davidsilverspares - £375.00

I'm pretty sure that $9500 price is before tax and license if that RWB is a new '07. That was pretty much were I got mine. Actually, at that price the dealer looses a bit of money up front but makes it up with the holdback. If that is indeed the price before taxes, that is a great deal on the bike. Regular MSRP for the 25th Anniversary 07 Non-ABS is $11,100. Invoice price is $9,700. So the $9500 has them loosing $200 up front.
