I would like a better sound than the stock muffler. Anybody with experiance with the Two Brothers slipons. Or is the Yoshi the perfered? I found the Two Brothers for $340. I dont want a crappy loud sound, just more of a growl and to let the bike breath better.

Most pipe manufactuers sell several different models of pipes: full competition, street/track, street, etc. The sound will vary quite a bit depending upon which model you choose. That being said, most of the Two Brothers pipes I've heard have a very pleasing sound. Never harsh or raspy and they are well-built. I think they are as nice as the Yosh pipes, so if I were looking at two comperable pipes from these two companies, I'd go for best price/looks. Oh, and the street pipes should give you the sound you are seeking. More information can be found on either of their home pages. BTW, the Yosh RS3 (I think they still make this) will give you the sound you desire. I ran one of these on my Katana 750. It had a nice low growl in the lower rpm's and a great sound in the upper range, but it was neither too loud nor obnoxious. Cheers, Joe

I put a Scorpion on my Z750 (got a good deal on E-bay) and it's nice. Not annoying loud, but a nice sound (pretty much what you are looking for). Plus you never have to re-pack them (I had a GS500 with a Vance and Hines that the packing was gone in, now that was loud). Good quality too.

Rocket... It was the same with me on my Bandit. The 2nd happiest day of my life was when I installed my Yoshi Race can on the Bandit, the happiest day was when I placed the stock can back on.

Are you just looking for a "better" sound?? Or are you looking for performance?? For just sound, you might want to try a bafflectomy. For performance go with Yosh, Akrapovic, Micron, or M4.. Guy I know has an M4 on a track SV650. Have never heard an SV sound so wicked.

My buddy has a 2 bros on his SV650. It sounds *sweet*, but maybe a trifle loud when you hammer on it. Course I kinda like that...

To be honest I wear my Crocs "Athens" flip flops in stylish blue and tan most of the time. I wear my Clarks or Doc Martens the rest of the time or my 'Stitch Combat Touring boots on the bike.

Thanks, you guys have almost been alot of help. I want the bike to breath better for better MPG's and sound better than the stock "silencer" without sounding like that damn kid on his crotch rocket down the street that you can hear from a mile off everytime he leaves the house.

Any changes you make are going to cost gas milage, not improve it. I went from high 30's with a 21 in. Holeshot slip on to 43mpg when I went back to the stock pipe. I can't say the bike ran any better with the Holeshot just riding around. Above 5 or 6 k, it sounded pretty gnarly and seemed to pull a little harder but overall I thought it didn't look as good as stock and was pretty much a waste of money. I sold it on a Suzuki based site and have been happy riding around stock and quiet.

I'd like to know hard stats re MPG's with stock vs. aftermarket cans. If you have a fuel system that compensates for air-fuel ratio... if you're able to suck more air in / push more air out you'll also push more fuel in. That's a one-sided view though. Post up some stat's if you can, Curious George.

Well Bubba. Hard stats on mine were this. Stock: 350kms to a tank. 2Bros and Ivan's stage 1 jet kit: 250 kms. to a tank.

Thanks. That's a large drop in kms though (not say'n it isn't true - just an eye opener). Those fewer kms likely had a greater factor!

Yep. Major wheelie factor. In most gears! But the stock version is no slouch.

IT was my understanding the a better flowing exhaust equals less work on the engine equals better gas mileage. My truck gets better mileage now with duals than it did with the stock single 2.25" exhaust. So what gives?

Factories spend a great deal of time balancing a lean mix of air fuel and exhaust to get the most usable power while still being under EPA noise and now emissions regs. You can open things up by adding a K & N or eliminating the airbox all together. More air allows you to add more fuel so you add bigger jets and raising the needle position, adding a free flowing exhaust allows you to evacuate the spent fuel/air at a higher rate giving better combustion efficiency through the whole process therefore more power. But the bottom line is you are adding more fuel, you can't increase gas mileage buy burning more fuel

I would like a 'better' sound on my same bike, but I so do not want much 'louder.' I'm enjoying the peace after having a string of loud cruisers. The Yoshi carbon pipe is hot looking on this bike, but the price is crazy and it's probably much louder than I would like. I'm just going to live with the stock sound.

I suffered the same loss of Mileage with my Bandito Rocket. (I had a Yoshi Tri oval & Ivan's on mine)
