the first time I went to E.S. I did not go downtown to check it out and I did not take the historic driving loop around town.

E.S. has a lot of history for you buffs and you will miss it if you don't do this.

If you go through downtown on HW 23 at the north end of town just before you go out of town is an old railroad museum with locomotives and rail cars.

The Crescent Hotel up on the mountain north of downtown is very historic and cool to look at and the driving loop takes you past lots of old Victorian "painted lady" houses.

I was there for the weekend not long ago. On the north end of 23 (Main St) is a Cafe Santa Fe. Across the street is an art gallery or something like that, with a statue on the roof featuring a penis. The girls with us were ,uh... intrigued? and walked over after lunch. Us boys waited in the Cafe parking lot.

They told us we should have went with them because inside there were more penis' (what is the plural?), but also some vaginas. Maybe next time? Can I say those words here?  Lol

As I have not posted in any of the National threads yet I will take this opportunity to say that even though I'm a local I won't be there, date conflict with the family vacation. Ya'll have fun and be safe without me.

One tip: Some of the Eureka Springs Police ride. If you see one downtown doing stoppies on his bicycle stop and say "Hi!" He's got his own motocross track and rides a liter sports bike.

I would suggest just walking around downtown, they have some good art galleries.  My wife and I did an evening tour of the Crescent Hotel.  It was a "Ghost Tour" I belive.  It had a lot of history about the hotel and that's what I found interesting.  Eureka has their own webstie, and you'll find more ideas there.
