Good company to deal with. I rented a K1200S from them. They drop off at your hotel. I dropped off the bike with them at their shop and they drove me back to the hotel the next day.
Very quick service when you rent the bike. They arrived early.
The bike was in PERFECT shape. I truly felt guilty returning it to them dirty from all the weird weather you guys have been having. This is in comparison with Eagle Rider bikes. I've ridden a total of 4 Eagle Rider bikes -- first Road King was perfect. A previous rider had screwed with the suspension settings of an R1200RT, and I had to dial them in throughout a day's ride. I originally rented a Fat Boy in Honolulu 2 weeks ago, but returned it after 20 miles with a bad alternator before taking out a Road King with a mildly warped disk. I will still recommend the Honolulu Eagle Rider because the owner offered to stay late to let me ride for the full 8 hour rental (he offers a slightly lower price than mainland rentals for an 8 hour day). The disk was annoying but not dangerous, IMO. Based on my experience and a Ride Report here on STN, it looks like the Honolulu renters maintain small fleets and keep them on the road as much as possible.
www.werentmotorcycles.com prices are a little higher than Eagle Rider but the bikes are sportier. Prices are a little higher than advertised -- they require a $25 insurance payment and the deductible is STILL $3000 (Eagle Rider offers a $25 insurance payment to reduce the deductible to $1000). I would have liked a $1000 deductible but they said they are self insured because they can't find insurance for a rental K1200S.
$215 for the day including tax, unlimited mileage. In comparison a Road King or R1200RT from Eagle Rider with a $1000 deductible will run you $180 - $185 with the AMA discount for the day, unlimited mileage. IMO werent offers a good price when you consider the hotel pick up/drop off. Besides the insurance, no surprise charges unlike a friend who rented from sportbikerental.com who got a bike with half a tank of gas, charged for set up fees, charged for additional mileage (in fairness listed on their website), charged for not returning the bike with a full tank of gas, etc.
When werent realized I was serious about riding 500 miles (I told them our Johnsondale destination), they offered to swap the tires for new ones. Seeing how I didn't want to take the time and the tires had about 4 mm tread depth remaining (deeper than Viffer Vern's), I declined. I had no issues with the tires although I got rid of the tiny chicken strips that were left.
werent also offers full face helmets in many sizes that looked to be in excellent shape for no cost. I prefer my own helmet, thank you, but this would have reduced the hassle factor of carrying my helmet around to a total of 4 airports 10 times.
