Tech Day @ Farkle Mania Central
«
on:
May 28, 2008, 11:07:51 AM »
Saturday, June 14 - 10 to 3
I have a table lift, No-Mar tire changer, some tools and an abused Weber Grill.
I know there are a few tire changes wanting to get done.
What else you wanna do?
Let me know, lift time will be limited so I'll need to schedule this.
First respond, first served!
$5.00 - $10.00 Cover Charge - will change depending on cost, I need to cover my expenses. This will cover the burgers, brats n pop, associated table ware, misc shop supplies. etc.
Leaving used tires will cost an additional $10 a pop. This is what I have to pay to get rid of them.
Come on over, do some Farkling stuff or stand around and watch others sweat and be abused by the tire changer! Knock back a burger, choke down a Brat, it'll be fun!
Let me know if you're stopping by. I'll need a nose count fer food n stuff.
Farkle Mania is located near the corner of SR173 and Green Bay (SR31/131) in Zion, IL. I'll send my address/GPS coordinates off list. Ping me at
SToc445@Gmail.com
Thanks,
Denny

Sweet! I'll be there ready to break a sweat on the tire changer. I hope the new Conti's will slip on without too much of a fight.

I'm in...will need lots of help, for which I'm more than will to part with $ and/or appropriate "coin of the realm" in the form of Aged Cheddar, New Glarus brewery product, Single Malts, sippin' Bourbon, etc.
What I need/want to do...in order of priority:
1. Install MCL riser plate on ST1300: This "will" require raising the tank, as I got the version with the powerlet outlet. In my possession already.
2. Vista-cruiser or similar throttle lock install. Haven't ordered it yet. See item #4 if you have inputs/suggestions on suitability of specific model for use with heated grip install.
3. New loud(er) horn: Thinking of the PIAA version, since it is "supposed to be" a plug and play equivalent. Have not yet ordered this.
4. Heated grips: Since I'm talking about mucking with the wiring etc...I might as well do this at the same time.
Items 2 - 4 will require final brand selection/order/receipt. What do you think about this list? Can do in 1 day? Any specific recommendations on "what to order" for an '03 ST1300?

I have a couple of projects that I need to get done...
1. Heated Grips install
2. Headlight wiring harness install
Could these be accommodated?

Cheddar
Cheddar,
#1 and 2 are not a problem.
#3, Do not order a manly tooter. I have one Chuck bought but I couldnt find a spot big enough on two of his bikes. You have a perfect spot by your right mirror. Hook up with Chuck to work out the details. Ping me offline and I'll send the links for the install. Link to horn -
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/2137/
This is an awesome horn. I blew some guy into his passenger seat the other day. That was a giggle.
#4 we can do while doing #3. Highly recommend these grip heaters -
http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?page=CST/CTGY/SYMT
You'll need (2) 30a relays, wire, fuse holders, etc. You can bring it or I can buy it from my supplier and you pay me then. Let me know.
I'll be spread thin that day, but I can coach you and the keep the project rolling. Maybe we can get an early start on your list. Worst case, prioritize and if need be, pick up balance on another day.

Sam
Sam,
As I mentioned in Chedar's post, If you have not purchased any grip heaters yet, I highly recommend these:
http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?page=CST/CTGY/SYMT
The headlight harness shouldn't be a problem.

With Denny's garage, I think it'll be a little easier to find...
It looks like I'm out. I've got a wedding to work that day. Have fun all!

well, see, this right here is why I gotta go!
I cannot visualize a squared away garage -- hence, the appearance of the Entropy Lab!
perhpas laying eyes on a clean, organized workspace will help me.
Riding past Newman-Haas Racing in Buff Grove for years certainly hasn't helped!

My Saturday is chock-full (young Eagles rally up at ENW then a kids fishing derby out at work), but I may be able to stop by briefly for some socializing. I'll have my daughter with, though, so no bike (she's not quite 2 yet). Funny thing is I just ordered some new tires and was planning on taking them to ACE (Kenosha) for mounting since I don't have the wherewithal to do it myself. Any chance you can help me out some other time, neighbor?
