It was so nice out this past Sunday! I ended up taking a day trip up to the Delaware Water Gap on the border of PA & NJ. I live about 10 miles outside of Philadelpiha, so I slabbed it up to Pennington and then took Route 31 all the way up to 46 and into the Gap. Stopped for a nice saddlebag lunch at the entrance to the Appalachian Trail as you come into NJ (Dunnfield Creek). If you've never stopped there, it is just beautiful. A short walk up the trail and you encounter waterfalls and beautiful landscapes. A few paces off the trail and you feel as if you're in your own little world. Back on the bike, I proceeded into PA and down Rt611 to RT 32. Both follow the Delaware River and are a lot of fun to ride. Traffic wasn't too bad, but you do occasionally encounter that Sunday driver who seems completely intimidated with the turns and bends - always riding the brakes. Sometimes, I would just pull over grab a gulp of water and let them get a bit down the road. There were more bikes than you could count! New Hope, PA was packed full of people and bikes - the bikes lined the street. Route 32 just south of New Hope is open again for the first time in years. This means you can follow it all the way into Trenton. Once there it was Rt 29 through the tunnel and back on Rt 295S for home. Awesome day of riding!!

I can't get enough of that open road. I guess I'm just an Asphalt Junkie!

Oh hey!  I'm in NE Philly near Franklin Mills.  I was out Sunday: hit Martins Motorsport in Boyertown, rode through Ephrata late, then up to Kutztown area for lunch, over to Cycle Gear to browse their wares, then over to Easton and down 611 to Street Road.  Shoot me a PM if you want a wing-man next time.

I gotta avoid New Hope for now, at least until I mount my rear turn signals and get the bike inspected.  That's why I usually go up 29 past New Hope.  Or else I shoot up 611 to Easton, then "start" my ride from there.  Rt 32 north of Dilly's is under construction now anyway.
