Saw an ad in the paper that there is an Airshow this weekend in Rockford...including the Thunderbirds.

They even had a coupon for FREE Admission on Friday night...and $5 admission for Saturday or Sunday.  Interestingly, the free/reduced admission is "supposed to be" for WI residents only.  Regular admission is $10 on Friday, $15 on Sat/Sun.

Guess they're not "feeling the love" for our Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa brethren... Lol

Anybody going?

Work near the airport.  Have to drive around it twice every day.  They close the road because the air show that I use to get to and from work starting tomorrow.  But I have to pay full price.

That sucks.

But yea I'm going and will pay full price.

Send me a scanned copy of the coupon please.

Thanks

Will see if can find a scanner around here...

For what it's worth, I found the coupon in this mornings' Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal.  Don't know if they have a "virtual coupon" on their website...JSOnline.

I've got a copy of the coupon scanned in as a jpeg file.  Send me a PM with your email address and I reply with the file attached.  Too dumb to figure out how to do it here...

Nice show today. As usual, the T-birds let everyone down, couldn't fly because of weather. Here are some pics of the other acts that flew.............

I'm on the N.E. end of Rockford, and I could hear several of the planes through the day. Won't be able to make it to the show though, damn yard work!

My buddy and I were there Saturday. The Thunderbirds rocked! They blasted in the midst of an oncoming thunderstorm as well as a tornado warning! We quickly hit the road after the performance and made it 5 min from my house bone dry. Then at the intersection of rt.31 & rt.176, the skies opened up and all hell broke lose. We got drenched!

The Sport Pilot License is a decent option now if you can find a Light Sport plane to train in/rent.  Though with the cost of gas, It's even harder to justify flying these days.
