I did a quick search and did not come up with much, so here is the question.  For those of you out there that have or have used a Butt Buffer dry gel pad on/in your seat, please tell me what you think about them.

I have gel seat pads.  They've been on the shelf for, oh, five years or better now.  They suck.  Period.  IMC, the main problem is that they do not dissipate heat and heat is one of the two main sources of discomfort - the other being moisture.  Well, I suppose that huge hemorrhoid could be a third issue...  Lol

Same.  Didn't seem to make a lot of difference.

I cannibalized the gel from mine and installed it in my friend's SV650 seat when I refoamed it recently.  Did remember to stick the gel under the foam.

Yep.  Bought both the rider and pillion pads, back when I had my Road Star.  My backseater didn't notice much improvement either.

On my last bike I had the Butt Buffer guy (there's a franchise right down the street from me) install pads under the rider and pillion seats.  It cost me a large chunk of change, but less than the cost of a new seat.  The pads made the seat physically heavier and a little 'swollen' looking.  The seat was squishier, and I guess it helped marginally in terms of comfort.  However I won't be doing it again.

I have a gel pad which attaches over the seat.  I used it recently on a tour last year in colorado.  I had it over a corbin seat.  when i originally tried the gel pad with the stock seat and it felt to bulky.  The corbin tends to lower the seat hight slightly and when paired up with the gel pad in my opinion made a major difference.  The squishyness is something that youll need to get used to at first but after some miles I found that i didnt notice it being there so much.

I wear bicycle shorts with a gel "butt pad" instead of underwear. Keeps my bits in order and provides nice padding for my butt bones. I brought this over from my mountain bike experience.

I used the BB on my VFR on a couple of road trips.  The initial impression was that it was comfy, and nice enough on the interstate, but I moved around too much on the curvy stuff.  I don't use it anymore as it didn't make enough of a difference to carry it along.
