As most of you know Colleen is heading south end of August.   Sad    I'm sure this will be just one of several going away parties.

It's on August 9th  because,  1. It's close to actual departure date  2.  Gives peeps  some time to plan.   3. She approved it.  Lol

So put it on you calenders. Dano's Rancho,  is on the hill,  East side of Lake Sammamish.   Room for badminton, horseshoes, golf, dirt riding, hot-tubbing, BBQ ing,  general laying around and relaxing,  eating and if you want to work on a bike we can do that too.

As with all STN events, you're never really sure who is gonna make it,   Crazy   so it's a BYO...  meat and drink.   I'll have quite a bit of food,  but hey were expecting a crowd, it's  the Den Mother's Party afterall.
Gates open at 4:00 P.M. (that sounds cool)  Smile Eating @ 6:00 P.M. Bonfire and  S'MORES after dark..     Banana Banana Banana Beerchug

Post up if you're gonna make it,  I need an idea of the head count.  I'll P.M. directions when I know you're coming.
If you're coming from afar, bring a tent.. Razz  Hell,  even if your close, bring one if ya don't want to ride home that night...   Bring a motorhome if ya can afford the gas Thumbsup

And ya never can tell, summer may just be here by then.. Cool

I'll definitely be there, since I won't be able to make the 19th at the Den Mothers house. Probably better this way, I'll get to meet a few more of this group. Oh, I will need directions, at least an address to map quest. If any of those from this side of the pond plan on going, post up, we can make the trip together.

I wanted to wait 'til the GS and KLR were out of the garage so that I'd have room to put boxes 'o stuff  Crazy  Speaking of which, the moving truck will be in the driveway on Friday the 22nd if anyone wants to help expedite my move...

Have a great party. I got to say my goodbye to Collen last Saturday. I happened to be with my family in our 91 Westfalia driving just north of San Francisco at around 3pm. It was windy and we were near Novato when I spied a green KLR with a white star and a pink Barbie case strapped on the back. I waved but it was too busy and too late.

I wished you well Colleen and was happy to have seen you whizzing down to your new home.  Bigok
It would have been too perfect if we could have chatted but ... c'est la vie !!

Unless the weather shows a large area of clearing this afternoon, I'll have to bite the bullet and put some gas in my truck for the trip over.

Sort of a sad story-  I took my truck to the gas station a couple of days ago to put 6 gal in my empty 31 gal tank.  A guy came over from the opposite side of the pump, and asked if I could give him a few bucks to put some gas in his compact SUV.  Claimed he left his wallet at home.  I declined.  I may have given him a few bucks if I felt like I was able to spend the $112 it would have taken to fill my own tank.

Anyway, back on topic.  I'll make it to colleen's send off no matter what it costs me, or I have to walk, or, God forbid, ride one of my bikes in the rain EEK!  Actually I'm not too happy about getting my truck wet either!  Maybe I should move to California?

Only if you want to.  I think we'll be fine.  We can always have a garage /kitchen party if it's pouring.  Seems like its just temporary squalls.

I've got brats/dogs/chilli/chicken-wings/veggy-tray/sushi/coleslaw/cake,  so there should be plenty of eats.  So if anyone is running late don't worry about anything..

Hot tub is cranked up if anyone needs to warm up before the ride home.. Thumbsup

Well that was fun!  And the food was fantastic!  Thanks Dano and Katherine.  Goodbye Colleen. Smile

We started on the deck, but moved to the kitchen after a rain shower broke out.

Then some metrosexual broke out???
http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u179/denydog/IMG_2-1.jpg

Then people moved to Dano's expansive garage to be closer to the bikes.

Colleen decided to show us how she rides.  Bigok

Then a rainbow broke out over the gathering.  Inlove

Then people moved to the bonfire, and the smores were broken out, mmm...

And the conversation continued as Colleen kept poking the fire...   :pokestick:

Nice shots Deny. We did have all kinds of weather, sun, rain and wind.  Kudos to all that made it over.   Nice variety of bikes, no two the same. I'll have to spend today drinking and eating all the leftovers.  I think that cake is gonna do me in.. Lol   Hope Dave made his 1:00 A.M Ferry Ride home.. EEK!

(from my website)

The BBQ was slated to start around 4 that Saturday afternoon. I was the second one there, and more people continued to trickle in over the next few hours. Dan and Katherine had everything set up for inside/outside hosting, as the weather didn't look like it was going to cooperate. The forecast was not too surprising seeing as we had used up all of our good weather during the work week. But for now it was dry out and the grill was heating up nicely. Dan had some homebrew that was well-received and some of my favorite rootbeer in the fridge for me. Ahhhh - how thoughtful!

ol' Rocket sent flowers! (that was incredibly thoughtful Mark - thank you  Bigok )

Just as the food was getting ready to be served, the first drops of water started. Within minutes there was a deluge, not typical of the PNW, but apparently Mother Nature felt the need to condense a few typical rainy days into this one event. Those with good sense went inside while the rest of the gang stayed outside (Katherine is excluded from being lumped in with them, as I think she was just being a good hostess).

Dave joins the crowd, too stubborn to come in out of the rain

The bikes were at least dry

Yep, that's rain.

Mmm - cake and berries!

Full rainbow over the garage

While inside, we had tasty chicken, dogs, brats and CAKE. Mmmmm, tasty and rich and chocolatey. It was good. Then the rain blew away, a rainbow came along telling us that it was safe to start the bonfire and we spent the wee hours of the evening making s'mores and sitting around the fire talking about any number of subjects. It was almost midnight before the last of us rolled out of the driveway.

Early stages of the bonfire

Thank you to everyone who came and even those who couldn't come but expressed their thoughts of goodwill. You are all truly a great group of people!
