I got a call out of the blue yesterday from Explorer to say he and KitKite were in town!  We promptly invited them over to the house for dinner and a place to sack out.  I was happy that I could finally reciprocate for imposing on KitKite last summer when she let Spectre and I stay at her place with no advance notice.  What a great day it turned out to be.  Vicki and I had just picked up our daughter from school (last day!) and had taken her out to lunch, so it was still early in the afternoon.

We met at the house so they could unload their bikes, and then, surprise!, we went on a ride.  Cynthia had never been to Virginia City so we headed in that direction, over Geiger Summit.  The truck route (the best route) was clear so it was a nice spirited ride up the mountain.

After walking up and down the boardwalk and window shopping at the stores we headed toward LakeTahoe.  Mount Rose had a bit of traffic so we just took our time and enjoyed the scenery.

Then home over Spooner Summit.  We barbecued burgers, and had corn on the cob and baked beans and then enjoyed the fire-pit in the front yard.

We roasted marshmallows...

We ate Smore's...

Then we had strawberry shortcake (yes 2 desserts, thank you Vic!) and then called it a night.
Then, bright and early this morning, as fast as they showed up, they were gone!

Can't wait to see you guys again soon.
