i'll be traveling through eastern ky and southern ohio on my way back from the smokies next week.  can anyone suggest a good route from the portsmouth/wheelersburg area to the marietta area?  i'll be on a sport bike so i'm looking for good pavement, lots of turns, and little traffic (aren't we all, lol).  Bigsmile

thanks!   Bigok  those are great roads.  they're pretty close to home for me and i ride them as often as possible.  i'm  looking for some advice on the area southwest of marietta.  more specifically, between ashland, ky and marietta, oh.

thanks,

I took 689, 160, 325 and 141 between Athens and Ashland on my way to the National. 689 was nice, 160 and 325 were OK. 141 had promise, but I had to manage several deep water crossings because of all the flooding. It's been two weeks since these photos, but it's been raining too. The second one was shorter, but about 18" deep...

No barriers, but there were signs on the shoulder every now and then about water on the road. There were four flooded sections on 141 that day plus sseveral other spots where you could see the water had receded and left mud/etc behind.

775 looked real interesting to me too when I was planning my trip. I have no idea what it's like though.
