Lol I actually ended up picking it up Tuesday.  Took a little ride in the mountains.  Nice, very nice, but I have to agree with all the criticism about the seat though.  Either my ass or the seat will have to get broken in soon   Lol I plan to get all my break in miles done this weekend.

You're in luck! Sargent is releasing their Bandit seat next Wednesday:

http://sargentcycle.com/suzwsbandit.htm

There is still time to pre-register, and I think you get 20% off for doing so, but don't quote me on that.

Awesome seats. Probably the only thing better is a Russell, and not by much. You also get a much more eye-pleasing seat with the
Sargent.  Thumbsup

99.999% - almost the perfect bike - SSA and possibly belt drive would have put this bike totally ahead of all standards/ STs on the market today. Bigok

Awesome. Bigok

Now all I have to do is wait for Suzuki to pull out of Myanmar (I know, I know, shouldn't let personal ethics get in the way of an awesome bike purchase...) and I can get one for my very own.

In case I can't get over it, is there ANY bike out there that matches the B1250 in all-around greatness?  I really would like to get a new bike next year, and this one tops my list, but what else comes close?

Hmm...Blackbird? C14? FJR? Sprint ST? VFR? All fine bikes but a whole lot more $. And if you love torque, well the 1250 is a monster that doesn't need to be wound out to get to its power sweet spot. I've got 5K on my 1250 now and since adding Holeshot's Stage 1, she's making 115HP and 93 ft lbs. More than enough for most people, and more than enough for me, a passenger (300# combined), and 35 pounds of gear and clothes for trips. But if you want more, Dale's header is due out soon and he's getting another 20HP with it after 200+ Dyno pulls. And the color matched OEM top and side cases are fantastic.

Congrats on the new bike, 71fish. You're going to need a plastic surgeon to remove the grin on your face from this bike.

FZ1 is close as far as concept/purpose/ergos.  But almost polar opposite as far as power delivery.

Poop.  It's the power delivery of the B12 that makes me smile so freakin much.

And the handling.  I've never really ridden a bike that handles "good".  I was expecting to scrape this morning.  Not used to leaning that far though I'm far from  Squid material yet.

Yea but they all have the typical "ST look"... the Bandit has such a pretty stance. Almost a perfect cross between an adventure tourer and an ST. Even all dressed out in bag and lowers, it is a beautiful machine - I hope to be able to sling a leg over one some day... !

Maybe, maybe, maybe they'll bring it to the US?  Embarassment    This is one of those times when I'd be willing to beg Suzuki NA. That's a cruel tease.  Sad

It's aftermarket.  You're perfectly able to spend the 1400 or so Euros to get it here.

Seriously, though - for the cost of a new auto oiler and about 10 high quality chains... I figure if I DO get the 1250 someday, that's going to be the first mod I get for it.

yepper - that price is seriously out to lunch - then considering the dollar/euro conversion rate - it is stoopidly seriously out to lunch! as much as i like the new bandito motor and ergos - there will be no more rear chains in my future.  Thumbsdown

My brother recently bought a 2007 1250 and I had the chance to put some miles on it. Motor was fantastic, super smooth with great torque. The seat sucked, how could Suzuki be so far off on the seat?
Rode 2 up with my GF and must say the passanger accomodations are not nearly as good as my Futura. Her footpegs were higher and the seat was shorter and narrower. We were crowded together. She said on the Futura she could move back to front 5" and on the Bandit she was locked into one position.
I was thinking about getting a Bandit until this ride.

for the entry price of a new bandit - you can't have your cake and eat it too. they offer a better 'gel' seat as an accessory... but ya gotta pay... ya gotta pay!
