Beautiful motorcycle though it would have limited utility and limited sales appeal I suppose.
APR does design some nice looking motorcycles!

With the cost of fuel and resulting surge in scooter and small motorcycle hopefully Paigio/Aprilia will realize the opportunity to bring the street versions here...

Totally (well mostly) off topic here but is the SXV 4.5-5.5 street legal? They have full light and a plate holder but I read a review where the author complained they weren`t street legal.

I'm quite sure they are legal. I have seen many on the street tagged.

You can get them both ways, if you want a street legal one they are easy enough to buy. I think when they initially came out they had only offroad only but shortly after launch they came out with the street legal ones (and they had warranties too if you didn't uncork 'em)

The 2006 SXV models were not street legal in CA and cannot be made so.
The 2007/08 models are street legal here. Be aware there were quite a few engine case issues with the '07 model 550's. The '08s are supposedly better but these are very high-strung, race tuned engines (unlike any other street bikes) and have an intensive maintenance schedule as such.
One more thing, SXV's are dead sexy.

My buddy just picked his up today! Here in Arizona, you can plate anything with a 17-digit VIN. Stay tuned guys...

Very nice
Aprilia had one on display at the owner appreciation BBQ at Moto GP Indy in the same livery. If only I could find a loophole that would allow registration in Indiana...

Now, I didn't say it was going to be easy to make the bike road-worthy.
All of the lights are in place, there's no turn signals and no wiring harness.
