But this electric vest goes to 11. Awwwww 'lectrics! I rode from SLC to Idaho Falls the day after Turkey day via Monte Cristo and Bear Lake. Going over the passes I had my gloves cranked all the way and the vest about 3/4. I came home via the slab, waaaaay to much ice on Monte Cristo.

Tombstone, where are you in slc? I'm down in Sandy.
I thought Monte Cristo was closed. Is it still open? With all the snow I figured MC, East Canyon, and Wolf Creek could be shut down by now.

Actually West Valley, but its easier to type "SLC" . As I gassed in Randolph one of the locals was quite surprised I made it over, he speculated it would be closed soon. This time of year I'm always checking house prices in St. George!

Okay, have to ask ... what's a Star Burger and where'd ya get it?
I wanna ride but got like 8" of snow yesterday. Driveway's a ice sheet and the stupid snowplow put nearly 3' of snow in the front of my driveway! Took me an hour to shovel a path through it. Poor ST is gonna stay in hibernation for a while ...

That burger up thar's a star burger, and you get one at the shooting star saloon in Huntsville, gateway to lovely Monte Cristo (and parts north), Trapper's Loop, and SR226. Double cheeseburger, grilled onions, all the fixins, and just for good measure, a grilled polish dog. Cholesteriffic! http://www.roadsideamerica.com/pet/thedog.html

The StarBurger is what you eat minutes before visiting the StarToilet.
not that it's not good...your body just knows that a StarBurger doesn't really belong in it, and should be moved along expediciously.
Only 5 1/2 months to go...

I put in 180 miles the first week of January commuting to work and have not been on any of my bikes since. Over here in Tooele I have had nothing but snow every week since. I still have a foot and a half in my yard and my driveway has nice coating of ice so rolling a bike out on it is not a option. I am hoping to get out and ride to work by next Friday. By the way Hi Clair and Hi Mike!

It warmed up to about 50 today at my house and that has helped melting the ice on my driveway. I hope it stays warm for a couple of days. I will try to ride the BlackBird to work on monday if I can get out of the driveway. It's been almost a month since I have been on a bike and it is driving me crazy. Last winter I was able to ride the 60 miles round-trip to work at least once a week. It's been damn near Minnesota cold here for the last couple of weeks and I moved from Minnesota 2 years ago to get away from the cold. The Widder helps but the mid 20s is where I whimp out riding. 80 miles an hour and 20 degrees on I80 gets a little cold ever with the liners in my gear and the electric vest. I need warmer boots because my feet turn to ice. Any suggestions?

Hey Kevin. I'm hoping to ride to work tomorrow (Tuesday). My driveway MIGHT be cleared enough for that and we're supposed to be mid to upper 40's. Haven't put a single mile on the STeed since Dec 26 ... :-(

That's what the 'snow melt' stuff is for. Apply liberally to your driveway and get out! I plan on an enjoyable commute down to Camp Williams Tues.

Hi Clair, that's too bad that its been over a month since you have been our riding. Has Todd been out recently? I had my Josh, my 9 year old go out Sunday and work on clearing the ice in my drive so now I have a path from the garage to the street now. Who needs ice melt when you have kids. I was able to get out Sunday on my BlackBird and run it down to the gas station to fill it up. I plan on riding a couple days to work this week since it hitting close to 50 degrees.

Yeah, I headed up Friday during lunch hour to check out East Canyon from Little Dell but the road was closed so I went down Emigration and was treated to some rocks on the road. Nailed a baseball size rock but didn't bite it.

Nailed a baseball size rock but didn't bite it. The road from Little Dell is usually closed until Memorial Day, but they keep the road from Morgan to Henefer and down to East Canyon resort open for winter recreation uses...it was pretty sandy, but not bad...I'll take a sandy curve in February over I-15 any day

Hey Mike. Long time no see. I was at Taggarts with our Hill Riders the same day. I thought that Strom amongst the other DL and ST1100 looked familiar when I left.
