Well it finally happened.  Along with the Concours 14, the Concours Owners Group (COG) finally joined the 21st century. In 2008 a new web and URL was introduced,  with a new forum, and a few modern features like joining/renewing online and a COG gear online store. www.cog-online.org

Recently, the club launched a brand new web forum, based on the latest SMF software.
forum.cog-online.org

COG History...

Officially founded in the spring of 1989, the Concours Owners Group (COG) is as described in the name and much more. It’s an AMA Chartered, non-profit, volunteer organization of motorcycle enthusiasts and friends. Concours ownership is not required and any rider is welcome to join.

COG has run over 1,500 events in the last 18 years to provide members and friends the opportunity to join together in organized activities and share their enjoyment of motorcycle sport touring. Activities include social events, group rides, wrenching sessions, and regional rallies, as well as our gala annual National Rally that is held in some of the best motorcycle riding locations across the USA.

Please check COG out.  Concours ownership not required for membership.

Nothing...  it is privately maintained forum.  While much appreciated, the club's directors were looking to answer member requests to provide online membership services such as joining and renewing online, online club merchandise purchases and rally registrations, and other member only services. The club divested and chose a 3rd party solution and the new site was created.  The vendor is working on improvements to the forum (which is now member only), with hope to have both public and private areas.

Been there done that, all about the personalities between the competing websites (READ DRAMA), lots of people playing both sides (spend 5 minutes and you'll see the same folks both places) and CONSTANT trolling by these same people looking to demonstrate their vastly superior knowledge and morals.  Never saw so many people bragging about the number of posts made (makes you an expert)......Join for the bike, stay for the fights!

Yeah, biggest worry I have is I've started to see some of the same trollers here now that I looked around a bit.  I do like the Connie however, keep thinking about selling and then its how can I sell this thing its works!  After I did the front fork upgrade, reworked the rear shock and put some new brakes, like a different ride.  All for about 150 bucks.  Not a BMW, but for a 1990 model wouldn't expect it to be.  Well worth the 1500 I paid for it.

Wouldn't worry about the Connie trollers...they are smaller fish in a bigger pond.
As far as my little red Conc - I'm planning on riding it until it just won't ride any more.

Why won't my password work on the "new" site? Do I have to re-register? Or did they find out I bought the FJR and ban me? Sad

There is a New Official Concours website, but the best Concours Forum is located at,  http://zggtr.org

IMO The Concours Owners Group owes Rick Hall an apology for their actions and a big thank you for his efforts over the years. All at absolutely no cost to COG or the forum members.

In all honesty there are very few experts on everything on any and all forums. However the knowledge base on ZGGTR.ORG is very good.

It really isn't the "experts", they are generally well meaning and usually there are bits of knowledge in there somewhere.  The folks who roamed both sites and exercise themselves as the "senior members" with the best interest of the group in mind expedited my departure.

Liars, fakes, BS artist, pick a label, always stirring the pot, spending more time reading and posting to compensate for their lack of a life or riding ability, ruining a good place to visit from time to time.   I could name them but why promote them here.  I have seen a couple of posts here from 1-2 of these slack jawed lackeys.

You cannot make a post on the Conc site without comment from at least one of the 10-12 complete losers in this group.

Sad, because until the recent events I was unaware of the history surrounding the site I had previously known as the Concours site.  I just thought these idiots were there trolling for a life not actually living one online.

Sorry for the rant, just got a bit of downtime and decided to vent on something.

I always find it suspicious when a "rider" has so many posts on a message board in the riding season. Save the posts and the drama or winter when we cannot ride. During the summer ... get off the computer and get out and ride. That being said ... I'm off on my adventure this weekend.

+1. Also OP's got six posts. How do you say you know who "all the Connie trollers" are here? I've been around here for about 2-3 years, never saw a "Connie Troller". We ass around and have fun here.
Sometimes things get heated due to differing opinions.

"Bits of knowledge"? That COG forum was a very heavily technically oriented site with some extremely knowledgeable guys.

I've been a COG member and forum member at Rick Hall's site, and it was a great site for technical info, some of those guys can tear down a Connie down to every last nut and bolt and put it back together
again. I stopped visiting the site due to some of the politics and people bitching about one site or the other, and on top of that, I just simply found this place a lot more fun in general.

OP, sounds like you need to ride your RT to find a stodgier forum that suits you.

Pffffffffft. Hang around here somemore. Get your butt to the leather shop for some thicker skins, you'll need it. DAMHIK.
However I wouldn't call these people losers. Everybody's pretty cool here with a very few exeptions.

Pure BS. Rick is a rogue and deletes any posts that expose him for what he is--he helped himself to payments from google ads. He didn't do anything but build up the post and view counts and membership on the forum which led to him receiving more google ad money, and COG is a not for profit organization. Many folks are misled to be Rick followers because neither of the two Concours forums will allow any comments or the truth to be told about him. When he deleted all the forum posts from the last 4 years, and blamed it on a hard drive failure, that was the last straw.
