Yeah, my favorite is Nick Harris. Toby, Julian and Randy will be looking for someone else next year as Dorna is dropping Eurosport.

Jonathan Greene and Steve Martin who handle World Superbike are pretty good.  Martin handles the ex-racer experience but Greene is the best at letting his emotions take over especially when the racing is "cracking!"   Thumbsup

The BBC guys are funny as well, Steve Parish and Charlie Cox. Both of them are used to racing and both of them have a great, dry, sense of humour Bigsmile

The problem with American sportscasters, and this applies to all sports, is that they can't complete a simple sentence. Al Michaels may be the exception but everyone idolizes John Madden.

Boom.

Dennis Miller was vivid proof that the ability to complete a sentence does not make one a sportscaster.

I know a lot of folks don't agree, but I think the best motorsport commentators are Bob Varhsa, Steve Matchett and David Hobbes on Speed F1 telecasts.

For motorcycling coverage, I'd nominate Nick Harris for Varhsa, steady and not too excitable (meaning he isn't a screamer like Jonathon Greene), Rich Oliver for Hobbes (ex-racer), but I haven't a clue who could talk to the technical work that Matchett provides. But what Matchett provides is really outstanding!

I did think Rich Oliver was a really good color man when he deputized for FFS at Miller (I think).
YMMV

Agreed, the F1 guys are really excellent. I enjoy listening to the WSBK announcers, and the MotoGP announcing is going downhill I believe.

Greg White should move back to being a color guy in the pits. He was at least tolerable there.

Miller is an overly pretentious ass.

The trackside announcers this past Sunday were Brian Drebber and Rich Oliver. When you could hear them they were pretty good.

+1

Drebber would come out with some bit of nonsense every now and then, but you've got to expect that. They were way better than most.

I'll miss the GP Eurosport crew if they don't resurface in GP elsewhere.

I really want to give the ratings to the US coverage, but they are so dry and painful compaired to them.
