Bachelor party idea
«

July 23, 2008, 02:40:07 AM »
A very good friend of mine is getting married in a couple of weeks. Instead of doing the cliche' bar / club night out, I chose something different for the bachelor party. 5 of us are riding down to Deals Gap and the surrounding areas for two days. The Gap is not far from Lexington (3 - 3 1/2 hours tops) so we should have plenty of time to ride. All of our friends going have been there with us before so it should be a fun time. Cigars, Steaks, and a sniff of Woodford Reserve at the cabin should put the day behind us nicely.
I told him today what the plan was and he called me back 4 times throughout the day to make sure the trip was still on. Seems like he is really excited about it. When I first started the planning, I kind of felt bad leaving out the strippers etc. but honestly, we can do that anytime we want. I got the OK from the future Mrs for the idea early on and she is only sad that she is not going.
If anyone can think of something I am forgetting, I would really like the suggestions.

You could have a stripper be a damsel in distress along Deals Gap and have her do her thing on the side of the road after pulling over to help.

Nice idea and I agree it's a good way to do a bachelor party! Plus, you gain bonus points with the wife-to-be for any future trip!
I think you planned everything; Liquor, cigars, steaks, bikes, place to crash...nice!

+1. Mine was creepy too. Stripper in a hote room. I guess me and my friends aren't really the stripper type.

A hot tub isn't as much fun with a sausage fest, but after the sun goes down and it cools off outside they are great for sore muscles from riding. If the place you are staying has one bring swimsuits. I'll only rent cabins at the gap that have one, unless I'm with a bunch of pussies that make me do 100 mile days so it doesn't matter.
If you go to a liquor store in NC pick up a bottle of Luksusowa vodka. Everyone I have shared some with likes it and does not believe how much I paid for it. Have had trouble finiding places that stock it outside of NC for some strange reason.

Nice idea. The last club I went to was my broth in laws party. I couldn't wait to get out of there. As with most parties of that nature, he made an a** of his self. The "dancer" wrote all over him with a permanent marker. He wore a shirt the entire time on his honeymoon. Have a great time!

You know, you "could" slide over to Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, NC. From Deals it's only about an hour, and it's a nice, scenic ride. Could be a decent diversion for a few hours.

Get a cheap motel room, beer, Jack Daniels, three hookers, condoms and some good cigars. That should cover it.

I've been to a bunch of Bach parties. My favorites and most memorable were the ones that threw tradition in the toilet. One of them was a bunch of us on a rented boat with copious amounts of food and beer. The other we played paintball, and included teh wimminz.

Ohhh Yeah! I think I've had this before. Is it that real potato vodka made in Austria or Poland or such?? It has that velvety, smooth thing going for it and is quite cheap. I think I bought it at Trader Joes here in Cali.

That's a great idea, as I feel like a decent number of people just want to hang out anyway. Not to mention any day that involves steak, riding, Deal's Gap, and cigars is bound to be really cool. Should be really memorable and you can just chill. Make sure there's somewhere to have a bonfire too, that'd really cap off the evening well. There's nothing like sitting around a fire with a beer or some beverage of sorts, and a cigar with good friends.
