Girlfriend and I are riding the North Cascade Loop this weekend and wanted to start things off by visiting a few bike shops in your area on Saturday. Looking for some riding gear like boots, gloves and stuff. What are your favorite shops between Seattle and Bellingham? Thanks for any tips!

Great little shop and a great guy, but you won't find no riding gear.  Hell, you even have to have him order a tire if you want one.  (he told me to buy mine cheap on-line and he'd mount it dirt cheap)  But for wrenching on just about anything, SSU is the place.

If you have the time to make just north of Seattle, Seattle Cycle Center has got lots'a gear and a great staff.  Located at 10201 Aurora Ave N, Seattle WA.

I haven't heard anything too bad about Skagit Powersports but I've never dealt with them directly. There is also Lynnwood Cycle Barn, but make sure you go to the 'metric' shop which is farther north. Their other location is nothing but Harleys. Both of these shops will have a larger selection than Seattle Cycle Center, though the customer service won't be as good as Lisa and the crew at SCC provide. For Dainese gear you can also check out Ducati Seattle. A friend of mine who just passed her BRC test bought a jacket from them and they seem to have a pretty good selection in stock right now.

Oops, so this too late but I can highly recommend Everett Powersport.

They are family owned, independent, and are real nice folks.
