Thanks for heads up. You might want to edit the title of your post to say February instead of September.

Thanks Dogboy.

I am working on a job that will deliver in Sept.  I guess I had it on my mind.

I received an invite for the Mpls "event". My wife said sure, let's go. Then found out it is being held at a "Gentlemen's Club". Surprise.

Formula Xtreme.  AMA hasn't announced any changes for supersport or superbike yet.  They might for 2008.

Page 2 of the article:

The AMA has not introduced any changes in maximum capacities in the Superstock or Superbike classes, but is allowing a great variety of machines in the Formula Xtreme class, ranging from four-cylinder 600cc machines through twins of varying capacities (850cc, 1000cc, 1200cc and 1350cc) according to technical specifications.

I know there's a website somewhere that does detail the rules for this years running of the 1098, Mr. Sunshine and I sat through a 2 hour 'discussion' at our club meeting about what classes it can race in.  The rider proposing the class additions had a site and documentation from the AMA listing what classes it would be able to race in this year.  I'll see if I can track down that info, if it does indeed exist.

The quote in your first post referred to the Spanish Championship not the AMA FX series.

The only big bore engines in AM FX are two-valve air-cooled. No way a 4-valve, water-cooled, V-Twin Superbike over 1000cc will be allowed in.

I got a postcard from my dealership. Guess I'll check it out even though it's unlikely I'd get one (unless I win the lottery).

Not 1098 but bodes well for future Ducati racing in AMA
