The Hot Setup for 2007 is......

 I am thinking about a new all-rounder for 2007 and looking at the Triumph Tiger but
 I'm just not quite sure about service and support with Triumph.....and  I am kind of
 a Suzuki guy.....

 Needs to accommodate two-up travel and I'll be putting after market luggage on it.

 Love your ideas...... just not a V-Twin  mmm k ?  

 Is it the Hayabusa with Comfort mods to make it more comfortable and tour-y

 or

 Is it the Bandit 1250s with Suspension mods to help in handle more sportbike like ?



 Either will have plenty of motor for my use.......

Busa, no mods.  I have very long arms.  Been all over the northwest on it and was very comfy.  If I wanted hard luggage and/or a shaft I'd be looking at the new Concours and the FJR.

Out of the choices you presented, I'd say Busa with whatever mods you need to make it more comfortable for you to tour on.  Power aplenty for one or two AND a weeks worth of gear, posh, fast, pretty reliable and dead sexy.  Bandit's just don't do it for me.  If you want the shaft drive, but still near Busa power and performance, grab that new Concours.  If it's anything like the ZX-14, it'll be the one to ride in the ST market for '07 and the near future (until Yammie ups the ante with the FJR).

I like the Tiger, was planning to buy one but the idea of paying $15K for it (with hardbag set , ABS, spt exh, and taller w/s) and then pay $2k /yr for insurance turned me off. Friggin ins., everything but a cruiser, tourer, or a ST (like Honda's ST, not VFR), is classed as hazardous.

Now I'm thinking about the Concours, it shouldn't have the hazardous tag, and comes with bags for a price that's prolly in between the above listed Tiger w/goodies & a Wing.

Somehow a Hayabusa doesn't sound like a good choice for TWO-up touring... heck, my wife already complains about the height of the B12's passenger pegs, I know she wouldn't like the Bus.

You could afford quite a few farkles for a Bandit and still be under the price of either of the other two.

$15k?    That does sound like a lot.  Then again, they're advertising 07 1050's in TN for under $10k at cycletrader (non-abs).

I wouldn't give up right away based on that ridiculous insurance quote.  Shop around a bit or get an insurance broker if it's a bike you want.  

My wife's the agent  . She could drop the hazardous tag for me (making it $700 yr), but the insuring company is more likely to catch it (& charge me later) on a new, more expsensive bike. As for the price, I figured a little on the high side for OTD, and a few other mods I didn't list (centerstand, heated grips & handguards for cooler weather).

Judging from the pics in all of the cycle pubs, I sorta like the looks of it. If it looks cheap in person though, then it's a different story.

Maybe I can get a good deal on a Tiger in the next 6 months .
