I am going to have a look at a 2007 K1200GT (~5100 km on the odometer).

What should I look for and/or ask the owner specific to this model?

The asking price seems kind of low, so I am worried/suspicious that all is not as it seems.

It may have been imported to Canada from the US. Anyone know if there are any important differences in specs or equipment?

Get the VIN number and have a dealership run the repair history on it. Please take my advice on this, and don't ask me how I know.  Rolleyes

The latest generation K-bikes and R-bikes can have their firmware upgraded by the dealer but there's a finite number of times that can be done. THe early versions weren't so great and the bike's throttle response was poor.

Ask what version of firmware is in the ECU.

Ask how many times the firmware has been upgraded.

Ask the dealer what the latest firmware version is.

BMWs have a 3 year/36K miles warranty so if the owner doesn't know you should be able to call the dealer with the VIN and get the bike's service history.
