I would like to purchase a pair of cold weather gloves for the upcoming fall riding season. I want them to be Gore-Tex (waterproof), and have some protection (armor/padding). Any recommendations ?

I have these:

http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-gloves/orina-gloves/orina-118/

I wear them alot, especially if there is going to be any precipitation in the cooler/cold weather.

I also have the Tourmaster Synergy heated gloves which are even better, but take a little more time to thread thru my jacket, plug in, etc.

The orina's can be bought here:

My hands are kind of sensitive to cold. Several of my fingers have been frostbitten (when I lived in Alaska).  I also don't care much for most "winter" gloves I find them to be too bulky and it is difficult to operate the levers and switches. So I've tried several brands of gloves before I settled on these -->http://www.newenough.com/gloves/insulated_and_or_waterproof/cortech_by_tour_master/scarab_winter_motorcycle_gloves.html

I'm pretty happy with them I think they are a good trade off of insulation vs bulk.

Last year I installed some Oxford heated grips and absolutely love them.  I'll never have another bike without them...

+1 on the Cortech Scarab gloves.
Best cold weather gloves I've owned. Very tactile but still keep me warm.

Held Icebreakers. Since I've stopped smoking I don't break out the Gerbings until nearly the end of the season.

Another Cortech owner here, very happy with them.

I have a big bulky pair of gloves that don't come out until temps reach near freezing.

I ride 22 miles one way, almost all highway and they've served me well.

I break out the Gerbings around December. My hands ache when they get cold.

I've been using a pair of JR Nitrogen gloves for the past couple of seasons.  They've kept my hands warm in some pretty heavy downpours down to around 40-45F, but any lower and I'll use the electric gloves.  They're looking a little long in the tooth lately.

Is there a thumb squeegee on the Cortechs?  These look great.

I also have these gloves, and they worked very well combined with my grip heaters.  I've ridden down to 5 degrees and not had an issue with my hands (toes were another story).  They don't have a squeegee, but I bought a little wiper called a red light swipe, or somthing along those lines.  It was like $5 and is just a little wiper blade that velcros around your finger.

I will be buying the Cortech Scarab gloves soon for the winter.  Currently, I have a pair of olympias but they are too bulky for my taste.  I'll donate them to my father-in-law.

My wife gets cold easily.  She just bought a pair of Tour Master gloves, I don't know what model.  Riding all day in cold rain on Sunday her hands were happy.  What's more, I noticed at night that the reflective piping on her gloves was really quite noticeable.  Little bonus there...

I have used a set of Tour Master Cold Front Carbon Gloves for the last two winters.  I ride at least 2 hours a day 5 days a week.  The gloves have held up fine and have zero leaks.  My winter temperatures is a low as 30 degrees in the morning and 45 degrees on the way home.

Teknic Cyclone  Thumbsup Thumbsup

They have substantial protection; carbon fiber knuckles and fingers, lined with kevlar and a gauntlet wrap.

They are 100% waterproof and have a warm but thin insultation.  I've ridden in 40 degree temps with no issues.

I really like these because they are h20 proof, warm, and I can still have a good feel for the controls.  Considering the Cyclone's are discountined, I would go with the aforementioned Cortech gloves.

Here is a link for some cyclones for huge hands: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mens-Waterproof-Cold-Weather-Glove-Street-3XL-Black_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247QQcategoryZ50425QQihZ017QQitemZ270248496833QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V

I think I have the warm weather version of the Cortech Scarabs, because they certainly don't keep my hands warm after an hour and half in the 40-50 degree range, even with cotton liners under them.

They look almost identical to the winter Scarabs, but the winter ones are a bit bulkier and say 'winter' on the wrist strap.

Anyone had any experience with these?:
http://www.newenough.com/gloves/insulated_and_or_waterproof/tour_master/polar_tex_motorcycle_gloves.html

They are almost $25 cheaper

So after reading the thread, I've compiled a list of links to recommended gloves, we need a vote of some sort going here:
