Pretty cool test especially as the reviewer owns an earlier edition.

I found this part of the review funny. I think I want to rent a few of the baggers to see which one I like best.

"The engine ran perfectly, didn’t leak a drop of oil, and didn’t use any oil over the 2500 miles either. Nothing came loose, fell off, or didn’t function as intended. Fit and finish is top notch, and the Flame Blue Pearl paint is perfect. This is typical Harley-Davidson quality."

Why is that funny?  The author just listed out a bunch of misconceptions that some people have of the brand.

I have just started reading Harley reviews for the first time and I have never seen anyone mention these things in a review. I guess I never thought any of the new Harley's would have that issue orI would not be considering it as a possible option.

You have to understand the source.  motorcycle.com has a really active vocal members forum where just like here, people who have never ridden a Harley automatically claim they do all these things.  The author of the article was/is an acitve member of that forum before he got hired as an actual reviewer for the site.  So he was addressing all those naysayers by writing that.

Exactly. It was stated "tongue in cheek" to address misconceptions/urban myths about HDs.

...hence why it is funny. See how we can go 'round and 'round with this?
