Did you mean "who stops to sleep"?

I have done both.  Stopped to eat and stopped to sleep.  Its really not that hard.

I don't usually stop specifically to eat in an SS1K... just graze on Cliff Bars. A bite or two at each gas stop.

I've never done it before, but my next Saddlesore I'm stopping at an RTE in the middle. Probably hang out for an hour or so, then turn around and head home. Crazy, innit?

Cliff bars in the tank bag, water on board to sip while riding and stay ahead of hydration, a stock or aux tank to get at least 250 miles between gas stops. Ride, rinse, repeat. Be there in 16 to 20 hours and have all the time wasted at yet another gas station (or fast food abortion) available for riding around your destination location.

I did stop at a RTE in the middle of my second-consecutive 1k-day because i'd chosen the place as one of my documented turn points for the ride. It hosts an annual Chiliburger Run. I didn't actually eat there though. I tossed the to-go box in my trunk and ate it at the end of my SS2K.
