National Meet dates?

Eh, what's a month? A couple of dates are kind of close at this point. Everyone should have the opportunity to vote.

I'm sure I'm an exception to the norm, but the 09 vacation schedule has already passed my desk and is on to the next person.  Another month means no vacation weeks left to take in June and no possibility of attending the National.  For me it never matters what the date is, it's always decided too late.  I was able to make this years only because of a delay in a new aircraft delivery that freed up a few weeks that weren't originally available.

I understand what you're saying... Perhaps we should have chosen a different length for the poll to start, but with two sets of dates as close as we have, it's important to not change it now. Don't want a repeat of the drama from last year!  

Or you could have just requested the last half of June off.

Oh yeah, I agree you can't change it now.  It just seems to me that if we just had a date for the National, say last week of June, and then left it there every year it would be simpler for everyone than having a poll and having the date move each year.  For example, the Region 4 Meet is Labor Day Weekend every year.  If you can't make it this year you at least have the knowledge of when to plan for it next year.  The poll results so far indicate having a date is more important than choosing a date.

The HSTA STAR national in VA is the last full week in June.  Just sayin'.

I think one of the reasons for a poll each year was to give a bit of variety. But it always ends up being in June, and almost always the 3rd week in June. I suppose we could just "make it so"

Get on the bandwagon (does that translate to brit speak  ) for June 17-18.  Then we can stuff the ballot box for the WCRM on June 13-14.

I'm trying to manipulate it so I can do both by going from Seattle -> Fortuna -> Gunnison.

I, for one ,have always wished for a firm date for the national,the moving date thing never works for me,major events elsewhere in the motorcycling world have more or less fixed dates so people can plan far ahead ,esp if its a major trip requiring major time to go ,thus scheduling said time.Please make it so as far as my 2 cents go.We can leave the roving date thing to the regional meets

I'm going to leave the setting up of an annual repeating date to someone else with more understanding of the logistics of travelling to the different locations. I've only been to one state that hosts the national, WV, and all I really know about that is that it's a good idea not to have a meet there during a hurricane.

I will support a move to have the National on a fixed week in June every year after this. People are right: a fixed date is probably better for the majority of us.
