Well, this summer I'm planning a trip with my girlfriend to go to Poland to visit my family. My brother has a Honda Deauville over there, and last time we took a trip on it around southern Poland. This time I'd like to do a trip as well, but with me on my own bike(whether I own that bike or not).

I'm looking at a few day tour hitting cities like Warsawa, Berlin, Dresden, Prauge, and Krakow.

I've found 2 places online that rent bikes. AdMo-Tours and moto4fun. Both companies offer either a GS500 or a Wee strom. The companies seem like they might be the same thing, or at least be under the same parent company. The prices are close to identical.

Well, the moto4fun site has a link to a site with almost identical prices. Their own site though seems to have much higher prices. The admo site converts to about $600 after booking for 7 days for the Wee.

All this is just background info for comparison.

Does anyone have experience with shipping their own bike overseas, probably by sea due to costs, and insuring it over there. Should I just rule that out as too much hassle for a 10 day trip? If so, can anyone else make suggestions for renting bikes in PL? $500 is a lot for me, considering what I'll be spending to get my ass over there, and then tack on hostel fares in at least 3 of those cities.
What do you think?

you are going to spend more than $500 to ship your bike overseas.

That's what I suspect. So looks like rental is the way to go.
