Sara, your a baaaaaaaaaad girl!
Sounds like your enjoying you new ride though.
Well hello John! I truly am enjoying my new ride. I've put 11K miles on it in less than 4 months. Have ya been putting that pretty FJR through its paces this year? Ya ain't been Gixxer surfing again have you?

Personally, I'm shocked. I want it to be known that I fully and vehemently oppose such willful disregard for our nations laws. I'm appalled, too. You should be banned. No, you should be flogged, then banned.
I can't believe you did that. It totally changes my image of you.

Golly, you swell folks must think I have never participated in mischief or tomfoolery of any kind before. But that's simply not true. After all, I did had an overdue library book once.

Well, NOW we know! You're just a common scofflaw, aren't you?
I wonder when you'll start sawing parking meters off their poles?

my take:
"running" from the po-po is when you can clearly see a marked police car, lights a-blazin', in your rear field of view, GOING YOUR DIRECTION, and you accelerate even more to evade him/her.
However, simply continuing on your merry way at a high rate of speed, with no cop visible on your tail, or having recently passed one with no clear interpretation of his/her intentions, ain't "running", it's just smart.
And if your path to work just
happened
to include a pit stop behind a baler, well, what's the big deal??

I remember a tip from COPS: An officer mentioned that
When people run, they usually make the first right they can.
SO ...go LEFT...maybe even two.
At least get a new riding suit, and helmet....
You can always argue the bike is mass produced, alot of them look identical-- but the same gear on the same person on the same bike....OH YA....I see a felony stop in your future.
Turn Around, hands on your head.....5 steps back....kneels on the ground, cross your feet.....CLICK..>CLICK.

He didn't really need to look at my plate. He has already pulled me over on the same bike, in the same gear, and on the same rural road. Since he is a detective and rarely does traffic enforcement, he isn't likely to forget me. I pissed him off even more when I refused to let him search my tankbag.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radar_detector_detector
I've always wondered....why not just make a radar detector with the antenna and the interface (lights, buttons) on plug-in dongles and have the actual circuit that translates and responds encased in ECM-shielding so that your radar detector can be hidden anywhere on a vehicle and "undetectable" because there is no emission to pick up on.

If he had his digital dash cam running... well, you just might as well bring your toothbrush to court on Nov. 5th...
actually, thats a good point. the new digital cameras prerecord a certain time before actually being activated (30 seconds i believe). so when it turns on (with whatever switching means chosen) it already has pre-activation footage to avoid missing any juicy details or offenses...as in this case. they are not widely used yet, however.
sara, if you were able to determine that he was the same cop, then he might have the same opportunity for identifying you (if he remembers). if i had been the officer in that situation and i recognized you for sure, i wouldnt look for you very long, id just drive to the courthouse and sign warrants...then wait for you to show up on the 5th. he may be able to slip in a mention of this incident in your nov. 5th trial to show a pattern of behavior.
yes, this story is good for a chuckle, but i wouldnt suggest trying it very often. besides, you dont sh!t where you eat...meaning you shouldnt go doing this around the area you live/work everyday.

Just an attempt at some twisted humor. I'll head back over to the anti-virus thread now.
Your post / event is an interesting one. I'm with "JIMLARCH" - unless the officer is behind you I don't see any _need_ to pull over so they can pass (or talk).
